I believe that this will work out in the best interest of the kids, in the long run. In the short run, I am praying that there is no lasting ill effect, that I live a graceful forgiving example, and that what is in the best interest of the kids be what happens.

When I pray with my kids each morning, one thing I regularly pray is that me and my kids be given only the hardships to endure that will make us who God wants us to be, that we endure it cheerfully, turning to God through the troubles so that others may see Him through this, and that it will strengthen our relationships with Him.

Guess God says it is time for me to grow a little more.

I can't stand drama. I hate that I seem to have put
myself in the middle of causing it. I am sorry! I am
here to support, edify, pray, and show God's love
to those whose lives may touch mine. If I am failing at that in some way then it needed to be pointed out to me and anyone on CC who may very well been doing the same thing as I was. Thank you for those who have pointed it out to me no matter how much those words weren't accepted with appreciation at first.

you have inspired someone to open their heart miss miss .. it takes a good tenderizer to do that .. the evidence that you "have " supported, prayed and edified " is all evidence of a heart becoming tender towards the things of God Wich are also present .. drama??? No ma'am .. I'd call it a celebration bellowing delightfully out of heaven ..due to a "new thing" God is doing ... Such things are of God .. it glorifies all that He is .. I think this is an absolute shining example of it .. and I can't imagine God not smiling about it thinking "finally , FINALLY!!" someone gets it !!
the world needs more love in it .. and what a celebration it is when we are obeying the deepest thing of God .. Above all else "Love"

DED, I like to use mesquite. My stepdad made the smoker I have out of an old refrigerator. It has rings mounted at the top so I can hang slabs of ribs. I like to remove the pleura from the ribs when I smoke them. Makes them much more tender.

Yes mamm. you say your dad made it? That is awesome. I never really realized the different woods made different flavor so much. I always would use oak when. When I was in California most people would use it that I knew. My buddy was the only one that I knew that would use fruit trees. He would make them real sweet too. They were good, boiled in apple juice. ribs I'm talking about.

hmm...never heard of boiling them in apple juice.

I like smoking turkeys at Thanksgiving too. :)

I have used mesquite though also and Hickory. I would get hickory or mesquite chips and soak them so they would smoke more. I had a factory built smoker though.

Oh yes! I used to have a neighbor with a deep pit and every year she would do my turkey. It's so good. This brisket I just cooked is all tender and almost flakeyish. Possibly too done for some people but I like it.
