Ok so the chicken didn't turn out bad after all!
I was stupid for trusting the internet instructions that said to grill it on medium for 5-10 minutes to sear the skin and then put it on low heat (gas grill) and leave it covered and
undisturbed for 20-30 minutes.
Well, around the 7 minute mark my sister pointed out to me that there were 8 inch flames shooting out the back of the grill! I opened the cover to find Dante's inferno going full blast inside and all of the little chicken parts basking in the middle of the flames. I almost burned my arm trying to get them out of there. The skin was burnt black on half of them but other than that, they turned out great! lol
