Everyone has a hoppin' social life. Their Friday nights are busy.

(Technically, I wasn't here either, but being social had nothing to do with it. Had to roll into town for groceries and the gym.)

No, I'm not planning anything if that's what you're thinking. ;)

I live an hour and a half east of Dallas. We could have had a Thai party! :p Next time I go through the beautiful (ahem!) town of El Paso I'll make sure to drop in.
I'm 10 hours from EP. On the Texas side.

My social life last night was walking with my kids to their friends (they rode their scooters), coming home, picking strawberries in the back yard. Watching my husband mow the lawn and trimming the thorny rosebush that I've been trying to find time to get to. Yes it's exciting but someone has to do it!

I have Skype but I have no idea how to use it.

That sounds like a pretty cool social life to me, Fenner :) If you get to ride scooters too.

So what is everyone doing this weekend? :)

I REALLY need a nice quiet weekend, so I'm cleaning my house...including my son's closet (so I'll need prayer :) ) and I bought a couple of new books. :) Maybe I'll drive down to Land Between the Lakes and read beside the water...

I have to clean too Julianne. My daughters room is awful. She has to help me. Tonight we are having dinner at the park with my sister and nephew. Tomorrow is my husband's work picnic. That's at an amusement park so it will be fun.

Plasma, you're a brave man. I donate blood. Is it painful to donate plasma? I've heard it is.

The needle is pretty big. After the third or fourth time, you barely notice that they're plugging a firehose into your vein. The red cell return cycle can be...I wouldn't call it painful...uncomfortable. The first couple of times, it's just weird. Then you get used to it.

Now, if something goes WRONG, like, your vein starts to leak subcutaneously at the entry point during the red cell return cycle, yes, that's a little painful. And it stays painful for a few days. But that only happened once, and I was a steady donor for two or so years.

I have not found it to be any more painful than donating whole blood. They prefer my plasma over my whole blood due to my blood type. On the red cell return cycle, I often get a metallic taste - - like licking a tin can. It's a little unpleasant, but not painful. They give you TUMS, which helps with this, but I didn't opt for that today.

Blood types are fascinating. Too bad I don't have the attention span to read about them.

I had this theory that if I had it put on my license that I would like to be an organ donor, then somehow "mysteriously" I would get killed and my organs would be taken and parceled out. Then, years later, I found out my blood type is O-. Now I'm afraid of being bled dry in my sleep.

...speaking of sleep, I'm running on about 2 hours of the stuff. I should stop talking now. No, I should've stopped talking before I started.

^^^Ignore this. I haz ishoos.
