There's a whole lot of 'perfect matches' out there for each person...There's not just one.

i believe that God's plan for each of us is unique and as we are led by Him we fulfill His perfect plan. He knows us better than ourselves so i believe ,if it's in His plans , He has someone for u and this person will be "custom-designed", as a friend of mine has said. Just keep ur focus on Jesus and everything else will fall into place

Too choosy, not choosy enough, not confident, won't take a chance, shy, reserved, clueless...and millions of other reasons.

I do not believe that we have another "half" our there to complete us. This is from ancient greek mythology. It is literally a second piece to your body. I do however believe that God has someone perfectly prepared for you, if you do so choose them. We could however decide them not (permissive will of God).

I think there are multiple people who would be great for us but because nowadays Christians are so few and far in between it is harder to meet those matches. You gotta sift threw the mud a little longer before you can find the gold.

But even the ones who are confident, and not too choosy, not shy and have been married will tell you that they have not found someone who was perfect for them. I know everyone has a right to think that there is a perfect person for them and I hope there is, but then there is what reality tells us.

Even Adam and Eve were not perfect for each other. Eve caused Adam to fall and someone perfect for us would not cause us to fall. We all know what happened to mankind after that.

Someone please name one couple (not from fairy tales or movies) who were a perfect match for each other. I personally feel that this belief stems from what we see in movies and fairy tales.

NukePooch.....I really like your posts!

This type of thread is why I rarely actually post anything myself anymore. As I have said, I enjoy the subject in the "Singles" forum..but as I am not single, I hesitate to make much comment, because I don't want to come off as "braggy" that I do have my soulmate. But I do very strongly beleive there can be "perfect matches". I have found mine...and I feel there are beautiful relationships waiting in the wings for many of you.

If people want to believe in fairy tales, thats fine, but they should know the difference between reality and what only exists in fairy tales and movies. Haven't any of you listened to Dr. Laura???

Just for the record, Im not a fan of Dr. Laura but when it comes to being real with people regarding the "Cinderella syndrome" she is not only good, she wrote the book on it. Prince charming and the perfect woman only exists in one's imagination.

Maybe some of us have our priorities messed up. I had a dream the other day, long story... but it made me think about chrarcteristics or behaviors that I am willing to accept and the things that are not acceptable from a mate. Sometimes we may put things in a non acceptable category that may not be that bad. But on the other hand some people accept things that shouldnt be accepted.

I think we need to start looking at our own wants and needs and priorities. Maybe there are not enuf "perfect matches" for us because we have a disillusioned view of how people should be based on whatever fairytale we are living in.

So I guess you may be right. We need to be realistic. But realistic on all levels. I think it is realistic to think that there are some people out there that are just right for me as long as I have realistic expectations of those people.

I think when we go searching for that someone we become susceptible to Satan's traps. Who we think is the right person might not be. I believe that God will allow us to find the one we want when He thinks we are ready. The relationships we have had before are learning experiences to help us with our one that will last.

Also, you're right in that no one is perfect. We just have to find someone who, even though they have annoying things, we have to choose if we can live with that person's imperfections. God helps us weed through those imperfections that we can and cannot live with.

Sure, there is a perfect match and I can tell you who it is: Jesus and his bride. Since Jesus is the only perfect groom, that can be the only perfect match.

I don't think God necesarily "picks out" a person for you, and then if you don't listen to his prompting and end up marrying the wrong person you are screwed for the rest of your life. I personally think I made a very bad decision by marrying my husband, but the good news is that God works for the good of those who love him, and now we are happily married. We had to endure a lot of fire to get to this place though. Was it God's will we get married? I doubt it. Was he faithful to us even when we weren't very faithful to Him? Absolutely!

So don't freak yourself out that you only have one shot, and if you end up with a person that God doesn't want you with that you are condemned to a life of misery. You probably will have to suffer through the hard way because of your disobedience, but even a horrible "match" can live happily ever after by God's grace.

I don't know about the "perfect" match, but I've come across some that were pretty amazing. Timing and situations can be off, but the person can be very right.

In spite of every heartache, I still believe in happily ever afters.

I just want to add when most people refer to a "perfect" couple they dont mean those people are perfect. It means that they just fit so great together like puzzle peices.
