you know I was talking to a homeless guy and he said he went to the pound got him a dog because people sre more proned to give monry to a homeless man with a dog.
They are really picky at the shelters where I live...I am not sure they would let them adopt if homeless? I guess, I never thought about how they got their dogs. I figured they came from unfixed dogs of other homeless friends??

We have a lot of railroad kids here, who come from good families...I am sure in Cali you get a lot of them there. It’s really sad, falling in bad company and addiction.

Hello HappyChristian, where do you hail from. If that is your zip code in your name you live in Austin. TX. I worked with a mission in Oakland, CA that dealt with a lot of homeless. Most of them there were homeless because of mental illness. With it never getting freezing cold that adds to the homeless plight.

The Young Voice Mission was on E 14th Street in the Elmhurst District. I was there from 1985 - spring of 1992. I think I heard they renamed E 14th Street to ML King Jr. after I left. It was the main drag in the middle of East Oakland. :D

Yes Deade, you got it the big ATX. We have a lot of homeless due to mental illness and addiction as well. I really feel bad for the elderly who are homeless and no family...they can’t afford medication, so it’s a vicious cycle for mental illness.
But, a lot of the kids are train kids with guitars wanting to live the vagabond life.

Nope, using leftovers for another meal works conveniently for me. I don’t mind cooking a bit more and stocking. If there is company it’s fine, but it’s not necessary to sit with someone and eat.
