I had a girlfriend/fiance like that before. It was always on again/off again. When It was over for good, I was waaaaaaayyyy devastated.
I'm not gonna say how I got past it, but it took me a very long, long time.
I still don't know why some women want to play games with a man's heart like that.

Thank you for your compassion, but I was trying to relate to your experience(for lack of a better word)
of course, I guess we can show compassion to each other. And I bet you're like me in the regard that I am a 1 woman man. I only see 1 lady at a time. When that relationship is ended; then I use to try & find another lady to go out with.

Gather 'round and I'll tell you: Well, she came to the airport with her family. For some reason they were all glaring at me, and my lady-friend wasn't speaking to me. I went through the whole first day like this and was thinking, "Gee, I hope she's alright... I wonder what's wrong..." The next day, we ate breakfast, and then she went straight to her room... her family continued to glare at me for the rest of the day. When she came down in the evening, I asked her if she was alright... she asked me if I'd like to see a movie, and I agreed. As soon as we got in the car, she informed me that she was no longer attracted to me. Ouch. I had to sleep at their house and stay with them for 6 days... or at least it was supposed to be 6 days... but then there was a freak snowstorm and my flight was delayed by 24 hours... lol, much fun indeed. After the original 24 hour delay, there was a further 5 hour delay (which wound up being a major blessing, but that's another story...)
And you're not making this up? Well, actually a friend of mine met a guy on-line and he came to Canada on a visa. He was here from December to August of last year. Then he went home and she went with him. I'm so glad she found a guy that cares for her like that, but there are cultural differences that make things difficult for them, I mean aside from him not understanding English idioms. His parents came to visit. They were really nice and had a good time here but they thought Canadians were excessive. Like, they had their picture taken with a limo because they'd never seen one before. Anyway, so I guess it worked out for them but I don't recommend investing much in a person before you meet them in person. I suggest next time you try internet dating you should ask a girl to meet you at your local Tim's.

That sounds very Australian. Maybe I should say "eh" and the Americans could say "y'all" and the Brits could say "bloody."

Indeed, I've learned from the experience... I don't plan on internet dating again, but if I ever do, I definitely would only talk to people who were close to my area anyway (so that just going out for coffee wouldn't be a difficult option)

There's a lot of people that have gone secular. If I can't read his mind or see his actions face to face, I can't really judge one way or the other. I have no idea what he is thinking as he pulls out. Is he pulling away because he can reach the unchurched? Is he pulling away because he has had a falling out with a church?
Whatever it is, it just isn't a great option for the cost.
BTW, being patient and staying pure should be getting easier... But I think it's getting harder. Could be the old Abraham thing... "OK God, I've had faith and the way you said was going to work isn't working... So let's have Ishmael..."
Why bother doing it God's way when now, I'm just getting old and less attractive. bleh... Alright, it's dumb to think that way... And it doesn't do me any good because living "the other side's lifestyle" just doesn't really appeal to me. But, I guess I am getting more cynical in my 30's and tired of seeing others in relationships when they do not follow God's design.
