Really? I don't play many games but it seems most new games are so story based I get bored. 15 to 30 minute intros before you even start doing anything.

Only if it's a boring story.

Modern video games, like modern movies, usually have off-the-shelf plot elements that are plugged into the story to make a poor excuse for a game. A lot of them try to ham it up to cover up the fact the plots are tired and overdone, hence the 15-30 minute intros.

Take heart. There are still a few good new games out there.

Musing on stealth-action games:

Why am I the only one who can crawl through vents? Why is nobody else able to? My character isn't incredibly small and the enemies aren't very large. How is a vent a safe haven for me?

I mean, sometimes other people are shown crawling around through vents. But when I'm running and hiding I'm the ONLY one who can get in there. Enemies just muddle around in front of the opening, then eventually give up and wander away.

Maybe the bad guy hired cheap thugs? "No way man, I ain't getting the knees of these jeans dirty in there. Way above my low, low pay grade."
