I do agree with going to the person, that is if it happened within one year, but in my experience if something someone said or did still hurts you after several years today, then that tends to be more of a personal problem rather than that other persons because you have allowed those hurt feelings consume you.
Oh good grief, here we go again.

renewed_hope you stated your opinion. Some of us stated why we disagree with you. You restated your opinion. We explained why we disagree with you. Now you have re-restated your opinion.

For the record, I disagree with you. Again. The reason I disagree with you is the same as what I explained before.

Are we done here, or do we need to go another round?

Coming from a Pentecostal background, I admit that whoever gave me a “word” I sho nuff was going to see who this person is. I looked at their testimony and how they love Jesus in every day life. I also would talk with the Lord about said message. I moved when HE told me to move.

Now, I don’t claim to have certain spiritual gifts. But there were a couple of times in life that I knew God gave me a dream to share with certain individuals. One time, I told my friend a dream that involved him and someone else. I had NO idea what it was in reference to. I didn’t give it extra explanations. No “God told me it means this or that.” I just gave the details as is.

A couple of weeks later, the other person in the dream reached out to me. As the person was sharing stuff with me, the dream made complete sense!!! I didn’t tell this person about the dream because it wasn’t for them. But I thank God I said it to the other individual.

Stuff like this doesn’t happen often to me. All glory to God when/if it does.
Spiritual giftings are Biblical and COOL!

I am skeptical, but I wouldn't mind experiencing something real.

this makes sense...for a warning and a new perspective

I don't disagree something can be from God, but not on an assembly line
This is a surprisingly good way of putting it. In fact it is such a good phrasing that I really wish I had thought of it first. I have seen people make an assembly line out of delivering a word (ostensibly) from God.

Now I'm envious. Not jealous, just envious. I'm reminded of a Dixie Echoes album where they sang songs made by other groups of southern gospel singers, labeled "Songs We Wish We Had Recorded First." The assembly line phrasing is "Phrasing I Wish I Had Said First."

I don't see a time limit in the Bible

of course it's personal if it was a so called 'personal' prophecy

who has allowed hurt feelings to consume them? not sure where you are getting this

it can be a matter of truth vs ...let's call it 'not truth'...without any hurt

shrugs

LOL...you can use it any time you want ... but I might copyright it

on the serious side, that's how I see it...I don't think I ever heard a negative word given. I mean who would line up for that anyway?!

on the other hand, if something is real, I don't see people making a sideshow out of it

I'm awful leery though. shy even

I am thinking how the early church waited for Jesus's return and nothing happened. Sometimes the timing is so much further away than our liking. Does it make the prophecy less accurate?

So perhaps the prophcies will turn to pass when I turn 50, 60, 70, or even 80. It is still a Word from God, and I find comfort in that. It is not up to us.

Abraham never saw his prophecies come to pass in his lifetime. They sure happened though.

On the other hand... King Ahab never saw the prophecies of all those false prophets come to pass. He was very disappointed, one might say "mortally" disappointed, when he went out to battle.
