Gracey, wow!, that would have really floored me, as in made me hit the floor if Rich would have been coming to Seattle. Yeah, when, Mully died I just couldn't' even bring myself together for days, I know that time brought me closer to God, so that was good. Rich's music was so wordful, messaging, mezmeriziNG,and, rich. Chris Tomlin sings with a great power too, but he's still to me, little, when it comes time for me to compare him to Rich. Closest comparable messages singer to rich is michael w., and, reallly closest impact, me speaking of who made me emotional most..Amy Grant :)

Impactful things: 911, was at Work when called up to the 4th floor chapel and the twin towers horrors was replayed before our eyes. Noté: right on my way to work that morning I remembrr newst saying a plane crashed into one of the Twin Towers, which I had visité in july 1993, all 110 series up and the view everyy direction was tremendos, buildings far as the eye could see. In seattle, we have the space needle and when you look out it you realize just much huger new york is than here. Anyway, sad day indeed, as i thought nothing of plane crashing into one of towers and radio was not worried of it as anything more than unfortunate probable drunk pilot taking out a story it two.

--impact too was when 15 and homelife stunk, parents would've divorcia year later, after this time and right... I sentido to a friends those familia was STRONGER christians and we sang and danced to amy grant songs with His sister, mom, dad, me.

Ahhhh! My life was changed ,my sense of confidence grew when I heard about the Anna Nicole scandal with the Minister of Housing in the Bahamas. I was living there at the time.
I kid you not, my life was threatened regularly & the police was harassing me mercilessly. One threatened me with a shotgun. I knew that it was because of the connection my former pastor had within that administration. I prayed & felt within that the only way I would survive (my clothes were hanging on me, my pants had to be tied to me) was if they were put out of office. I told people that we needed God to send the media from around the world to bring judgment & shame on them so they could be voted out of office, That was how they had lost power after 25 years for the first time. We , the Bahamas, was in every news paper & the pun of every late night show. Bahamians were embarrassed!
I turned my hardship into a 40 day fast, not hard to do when you have no food. I prayed a prayer of imprecation, like David. I read through Nehemiah constantly who was distressed at the spiritual & physical distress of his people. Chuck Swindoll, whom I normally don't listen to, came on the radio the next day when I started fasting doing a series on Nehemiah. Almost every week someone came on teaching on fasting & prayer & Nehemiah. 'When there is nothing you can do, God can bring change in government.' I'll never forget it, it was as if He was cheering me on every day. I prayed for a spotlight to be shone on the nation. I prayed that the country & it's super religious people would be called what they are, very corrupt, by the International Media. I had no television. On the last week I turned from the Baptist radio station, to the local talk show to hear what was going on.
I heard one excited person after the other, talking about the large number of news people on Bay Street from around the world!! I heard people say how embarrassed they were at the way they were being portrayed.. Finally people were calling in & instead of talking about how God loved the Bahamas so much & how blessed we were as a nation that the whole world wanted to come there, some elderly people were calling for us to come to repentance. Ha Ha Ha.
Didn't I laugh!!!! I listened a Sunday radio show after I went on a fast for the 2nd time... & the lady said, people there is a spotlight on this nation, be careful how you act. Awesome!!!
Well, after the second round in the new year when Anna Nicoles' son died from a drug overdose, all Bahamians knew it was the slackness & corruption in the government run institution that contributed to this latest bad news, that government was gone.
Just before coming to Florida to my mother, I picked up a paper that had an excerpt from Wikileaks about the then Ambassador John Rood wrote about the storm of controversy that hit the Bahamas that he believed would leave the government in ruins concerning the Anna Nicole/Minister Shane Gibson scandal.
I laughed again !!!!!

One quick correction, Anna Nicole was in the private hospital, still it was corrupt. Once Bahamians work in it, it is corrupt, it's endemic. The original reports were quickly changed. Which is quite normal. Also meant to write that Geraldo did a report saying that the Bahamian people are very corrupt which thoroughly heartened me. Bahamians got lawyers to go after FOX & they, to my dismay, changed the tone of their coverage from truthful to 'fair'.

But years before there was a second headline that made a great impact on me.
To this day I will never forget my disapproval of the way that Dolphin fans attacked Nick Saban. Miami fans are very hard to please & the local sports jocks are negative & dismissive even if the Dolphins win. Then I heard on the news that Wes Welker was traded to the Patriots & I really wanted Saban gone, I thought the media was too kind to him after my change of heart. I still want to cry when I see him away from the Dolphins making those catches look so easy with his long arms. It's like a part of me will never be the same.

Man, I am old...

- I remember watching president Nixon bid farewell as he stepped on board the presidential helicopter behind the white house after being impeached.

- I remember watching the first man on the moon lunar landing on tv

- I remember the news broadcasting the number of killed in action and missing from the vietnam war every afternoon.

- I remember watching president Jimmy Carter with Saddat and Begin signing the peace treaty at Camp David

- I remember when Saturday Night Live was this new tv show with unheard of actors like Chevy Chase and John Belushi

- I remember when Terry Bradshaw was still winning superbowls with the Steelers

- I remember when Laura died on General Hospital

- I remember when JR Ewing died on Dallas

- I remember watching Gomer Pyle, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, the Wild Wild West, the Brady Bunch, the Partridge Family, Jonny Sokko and the Giant Robot...

I better stop before I start getting depressed.
