I will probably be rockin' some video games here at home, eating good food at a restaurant, or reading the web for news and forum posts. (So for me, every night is New Years Eve!!!) huzzah!

Of course, alone ..... I'm a lonely loser!
I really was hoping this year might
be different and I would experience
a midnight hug and kiss.

And I don't mean a quick peck, I mean a

(Okay, I'd settle for 16 seconds if not 61)
But still......no hope for michael.
Ring out the old.....alone.
Ring in the new.....alone.
Really starting to wonder what eternity
will be like, with no one there that is really hoping
to see you, but maybe I'm the only one like that.

You're definitely not the only one, Syd.

Plenty of us out here alone for the holidays, and have been for many years... with no one to share any midnight hugs or kisses with.

However, I have a cactus that I haven't managed to kill yet... and it looks like it could use a hug.

I just might get lucky this New Year's after all. I'm going to wait on the kiss though.

After all, I wouldn't want it to think I'm being too forward.

As long as you don't eat tuna with a fork

Somehow I don't think my cactus will mind.

Unless, of course, I start using his needles to spear pieces of tuna...

It sounds like you need a Boost to Pump you UP for the New Year.

Dr. SpySat1's prescription for you: Take this song.... CRANK IT TO 11!

ENJOY!

Hey, I've got eyes, you could get a hug
anytime from anyone based on that alone, no problem.
And from some of what I've read, you could get them
all to take a number and get in line.
Poor little ol' cactus don't stand a chance! ;)

And umm, yah, err, see,
A hug from great girl, yes,
preferably a daughter of the King,
which would make her a princess.......,
QUEEN boys ain't quite what I had in mind.

Sweet of you to say, Syd, thank you.

But I'm also a loyal girl and the cactus was here first, so... ;)

It does make me sad to read about how much loneliness so many of us singles are going through.

I hope many of you feel comforted by sharing your feelings here and seeing that you are not alone.

Not comforted... but it is a good reminder of how to deaden it through distractions... Be it rock music or cacti. ;)

Thx and God bless YOU, seoul,
I second that emotion whole-heartedly.
Beautiful sentiments from a beautiful girl.
(Never thought I'd be jealous of a cactus, lol ;) )

God bless our Marine friend, here.
Praying our Father in heaven guards your heart
and grants you more of His love and sustaining grace,
with healing in His presence for you through the new year.

Sometimes we toss around a little light-hearted banter,
a little brotherly/sisterly love, to get us through,
thanking Jesus for his grace to bear.
(sometimes we toss tomatoes, too.)
(and cookies) :p
(and pizza, if we can wrestle it away from a certain fiddler)
:) Semper Fi and God bless you and our troops!

Syd, you have a real gift for prayer (just in case no one has ever told you that, but I think it's kind of something you're known for here, as I've seen you praying for people all over the forum.)

And I hope the blessing comes back to you, several times over.

Why can't I be known for my looks, wit, and millions?!
(Oh yeah, ..... right :p )
REALLY sweet of you to say, though. REALLY hit me, thank you!
Actually, I WAS told that, namely by my friend magenta,
who I miss very much around here lately.
But I really feel very inadequate in prayer,
especially live, I get very tongue-tied, like in church.
I just hope to give God the glory, and try to
encourage someone along the way, hopefully,
but the thought always is running in my head
that He can get along quite fine without me,
and knows what's going on without me telling Him,
and I often feel like such a hypochrite or phony.
Plus my very warped, misunderstood sense of humor
often gets in the way, and gets me in trouble,
and I feel I need to GET more prayer to grow,
so your comment means way more than I can tell you now.
I thank the Lord for His grace and long-suffering toward me,
(and for us, even, sincerely), I need so much more.
God bless you, seoul, Jesus Loves You. ♡

We could rendezvous at the CC Singles chatroom tonight, but someone else will have to be the designated door-greeter as I will only be making a guest appearance. :(

Nope. Flying solo at work (which is usual) from 11pm - 7am (also usual), so literally working on New Year's (eve and day!).

I'll be the greeter tonight, if anybody shows up to greet.

And if I'm not still at work... there's a mysterious illness that decimates our workforce around this time of year. Can't explain it, but people get really sick and can't come to work at all, so I usually get some overtime on this day. But if I'm not at work covering for a poor sick person tonight I'll be here in chat.

Might be in chat tomorrow morning too. New Year's Day is always a really peaceful time at work. Nobody is up and about to buy fast food because everyone is sleeping off hangovers. So I'll be at work but I won't really be working. Maybe I'll bring my laptop. Or a book. Or maybe a pillow.

Your name reminds me of Michael Phelps wasn't he a swimmer ?
Ah yes, he was a swimmer. A fast one. But we all have our achilles heel.
