I guess, to not have any problems. Make sure your friend of the opposite gender does not find u attractive. That will minimize any problems.

Eh most of my friends are female. There's never been an issue or even a thought of one. Friends can definitely be just friends without having to worry about that stuff.

Well I have always been closer with men than woman. Men aren't intimidated by me, accept me for me and do not try to pull the drama stuff I can't hang with. I maintain friendships by talking to them as if they are a friend. It may be very different for me as I was raised with all brothers and was always hanging with the boys.

I am not saying a man did not try the friend approach first to see if it could lead else where, however I nipped it in the butt. ONLY ONCE did I allow a friend to be more than a friend and when the relationship didn't advance, I lost a great friend.

It is all based on communication and the things you do together. It is like a girlfriend you communicate with them and do certain things with them. WITHOUT clear communication, no relationship will work.

I used to "feel" very easily for the opposite sex. Not to sound bitter because I am not at all bitter towards women but I find it very difficult to even imagine ever letting myself have feelings of that nature again.

I don't know really. I've had friends of both sexes. There's never been a problem like sexual tension but I am also the type of guy most women don't find attractive anyhow. I'm kind of feminine in the way I act. I guess maybe that makes it easy for women to be friends with me since I'm not like a threat to them, and it's okay for guys too since I don't challenge their authority which they can't handle.

I got sister in Christ zoned once LOL.
When a guy says: sister..
Okay, I get your point.
Haha! I know that one well. I've been told off before many a time for calling girl friends 'sister'. They said that I'll never get a girlfriend if I go around saying that to all of my Christian friends. I didn't think anything of it until they told me once, twice, three times... Maybe I'm a slow learner.

Ha! I actually thought about you when I saw that. ;) It's okay Tintin... one day there will be a lady friend of yours that you WON'T call sister, and then it will be on like Donkey Kong.

Yeah if a guy calls you Sister or Sister in Christ...you're friend-zoned.

Same thing with girls. Brother or Brother in Christ means she's just a friend, bro!

Now there was one time where a guy I liked called me his Sister in Christ and I said it back. So although I had a really strong crush on said guy, I called him Brother because that's what he was calling me.

Awesome! You mean my future lady friend and I will be allowed to throw big barrels at each other? Yay!

Someone had to post it eventually, so...

...but that's not necessarily always true...most of the time...*clears throat* You can get past that if you both really want to be friends...probably... I mean, I have... I think. ._.

I find it much easier to be friends with a guy who's married or much younger or not saved, well friends, not gonna hang out alone, but I talk to them easier than a christian single guy my age. Lol I tried but that doesn't work. I will crush. Some can do that. It amazes me. A guy I went on a date with just went to a concert with his female friend or went to a restaurant with another female friend. She slept there in another room. Just friends. Hmm okay, no thanks. I'm not gonna be your other female 'just friend'.
