I wanted to post them for you when you first made this thread, but waited to give others a chance to respond first :)

Do you enjoy modern praise and worship music?

I don't know how to trust.
Learn first to trust God in all areas of your life. In a relationship you must first allow yourself to become somewhat vulnerable allowing that special someone to get to know who you are and what you are about. Trust is the foundation of any successful relationship, and especially in a marriage. There is always a risk of getting your heart broken when pursuing a romantic relationship. Please know that you're not alone in this. Glad to have you as part of our family. Welcome to CC.

Oh yeah, and welcome to the forum. Grab some snacks and a soda from the counter and pull up a chair.
We're out of Mountain Dew again on the counter. Only soda left is Diet Pepsi and Dr. Pepper. This truly sucks.

i hate diet pepsi! I can barely tolerate dr. pepper. :(
Same here. I really don't drink a lot of pop but I do enjoy the throw-back Mt. Dew with real sugar. Lately I've been trending towards Minute Maid lemonade.

I was referring to trusting a relationship ... I took a lifetime to open my heart and when I did, the experience was bad ... but I have already regretted writing this topic 😅

Hey Lily, You definitely livened the conversation in here a bit. Sorry for your troubles. What was it in this person that you trusted ? If you had to take it back, would you ? Or do you just feel like you were taken advantage of ?

Thank you! 😅
You asked the right questions... I don't if I would back, but I'd like it was possible. I was not taken advantage of ... he respected me as a christian, he made me live a fairy tale... but a few unanswered questions grew a suspicion that I could not bear ... so I gave up everything.

Is he living in the secular part of society ? Sorry to tell you Lily but I tried to live with my morals and standards of being a christian. But we are far and few between but I would like to think that I gave them a new perspective on life. i.e.,( I was the bigger influence..) Even if I had to leave...

Hi BlackLily,

It is not worth being with someone if you feel suspicion towards them, but you first have to make sure that the suspicion is warranted. I have pushed aside suspicion before and later regretted it. Is there a way that you test whether your suspicions are correct? Once you get your answers you can then act on them.

If it means you need to let go of the relationship, do it. It will hurt for a while but not as much as if you were to continue in it. If your suspicions are wrong then you at least will have a clean slate towards him in that area and no longer a platform for the enemy to mess with your mind.

Hi BlackLily,
Oh my you are so pretty. Welcome. I am so sorry for your pain. Walking through it seems impossible at times and I wish we knew how long we would hurt but we don't. Not all situations have earned trust. Relationships are not something we trust or don't trust. It is the individual people who earn it or do not earn it. We also have to be honest with ourselves as to what we are asking for. We have to know that anyone we meet will be a sinner. They will be flawed. No human being will meet all of our needs. If they were perfect we would be terribly uncomfortable around them. What we need are people committed to having God as their leader. You both have to agree to lean on him for your answers. Another person is absolutely going to let you down sometimes. Often it is because of what we expect. Sometimes it is because it is a power game. If you find someone who follows and trusts God, is committed to your wellbeing and growth in God and is grateful and joyful in their salvation, then you have a reason to trust, because you are trusting in the right things. Honestly, loyalty, integrity, self-discipline, generosity of spirit, humility and mercy are the things that give you reason to trust.
Sorry for going on so much but trust most of all that you can go to God with anything or anyone and if you listen he will show you the truth. Big hugs, little sister, big hugs.

Hello sis 🌻
it was exactly the reason why I decided to end ... I was having so many battles in my mind that I was exhausted ... many times I tried to keep faith and hope, but many times I just fought and tortured both of us with accusations and endless discussions ... Neither he nor I deserved it.

So do you know whether your suspicions are warranted or are you just guessing or don't you know??
Anyway the best thing to do is give it to the Lord and let him help you sort it out. Ask for wisdom, doesn't he say he will give it to us without reproach.
Take a break and give your mind a rest and let the Lord lead the way in this relationship. Easier said than done, I know but it is the solution to the problem. Trust that HE will show you the truth of the matter, until then don't let the enemy play with your mind because he will. Just keep saying Nope I have given it to the Lord and he is sorting it for me.

Oh, i see... I thought as it was a singles forum so that was clear what kind of trust I was talking about (please forgive my english).
It is, but there are a lot of topics discussed, and not all are related to being single.
As far as trusting in relationships, well, relationships are a risk, period. You have to be aware getting hurt is a possibility no matter who the person is. Even if the person never does anything wrong you just may not be compatible and things not work out.
I have been devastated many times romantically, yet I'm in a relationship now. It took some time for me to trust them, it didn't happen right away. But they earned my trust over time.
But I've been in that place of fear and heartbreak and not wanting to trust again. It's lonely. Not because you don't have anyone, but because you've made yourself lonely through isolation.
My advice, take some time away from the idea of romance. Not out of fear or hurt, but to heal. Don't make any decisions about your attitude about romance right now.
Choosing to not date is not a bad thing, but your motives can turn it into something bad.
And rememeber finding someone is not the most important thing in life. What you do with your life, whether solo or with someone else, is what matters.
