I am thankful for God saving me and keeping me from harm, just plain enjoying His life for me set ever since I was born (Psalms 139) , first and foremost.

And, something specific? Sure.

I am thankful that I've ALWAYS been able to be content with the work God has given me.
20 some years worth of SEVERAL different jobs, from delivering pizzas, working in the woods logging, and, writing and selling work.

It's true, ladies, and, gents, doing whatever you're doing NOW for work--even if it's tough or you don't like it--with a thankful, glad heart will make God gleefully, joyfully, amazingly see you through it so that your joy will be full. ,)

I'll admit there are days I take for granted. But, if anything, I'm thankful for my family who care enough to love me, house me, and to feed me. I'm thankful for my mom who taught about what Jesus did and does for me... The little wretch that I am.

I'm thankful that God gives me a life to experience. Through seeing a new generation coming, and an old slowly going. I'm thankful that I get to wake up everyday.

True story: I first read that as "keeping me from ham" lol. Maybe that's what I get for reading stuff on a netbook with small-ish text.

As to the rest of your post, thanks for the encouraging words! That was really good to read today.
---------------------------------

I'm thankful most of all for a God who loves me through everything. I don't deserve such a love, but I'm sure thankful for it.

Family, friends....Other than that, there are just way too many things to list.

will sacrifice to you;
what I have vowed I will pay.
Salvation belongs to the LORD!"

I'm thankful for the opportunity to know God's version of love in my life. I'm thankful for the way He allows it to spill over onto other people, in spite of my shortcomings. I'm thankful for His mercy and His grace. I'm thankful for the joyful, tender memories I have of family members who are no longer with me, but with Him. I'm thankful for a son who is my heart and joy, and I'm thankful for the man God is raising him up to be. I'm thankful for my job that I love. I'm thankful for anything in me that God is able to use. I'm thankful for those around me who share their hearts, including many of you.

Yep, stay a-fastened to God and He will lead you on a great ride of faith, commitment, and, adventure, His will for your life. Just buckle in tight, because you live a life of trusting God for EVERYTHING and so much will happen. It could very well be a very wild ride.

One of my favorite lines is from an 80's movie called The Last Starfighter. The master starfighter is talking to a 20-something kid who is bummed about never getting to go out on a plane and phaser the bad guys in space....

Boy: I never get to go out and have fun....
Apprentice: You will. Important thing to remember is, when you get your chance, you got to hold on with both hands and hold on tight.

God speaks to all of us and the important thing is there will come a time when God will answer your request (just don't whine like the kid in Last Starfighter) and you need to be ready for what will be a protected ride in the arms if your Saviour but will still seem like an amazing and fear-filled journey.

Oh, back, to the story... The kid does get his chance to man a spacecraft and not only does he go to space, he goes to space on an amazing and fearful journey, the LAST hope to save Earth. :)

Now, I really should see the movie again because the words are paraphrased and storyline might be different but pretty sure this kid was called on to save Earth and he calls on his video game skills to do it.

Sounds s lot like God to.me. God very well may choose you for a wild ride based on some gifts and skillsGod sees you have honed and honed and are ready for a wild ride from Him. :)

Amen, nicedude, thanks for the nice words, friend, you don't happen to have any green in you :D

I am thankful for my Savior who saw fit to save me in spite of myself,
my family who chose to stand by me and support me through the darkest days of my life when I expected them to turn their backs on me,

my church that provides an atmosphere that not only encourages spiritual growth, but personal relationships,
my country that for all it's flaws and troubles is still the greatest place to live
my employer who saw fit to "take a chance" on me over 12 years ago
this site that has given me the opportunity to minister to others, yet I always feel that I am getting so much more than I give
my friends, both real life and those I've met here, that accept me for who I am and are always an encouragement

I am thankful for all the same things, Oncefell, amen. Ditto. I glean a lot of good things spoken by you and others that edify me for staying strong to the course my God has set out for me to follow.
It's a tough road to hoe, my humanness can become too real at times, which gives Satan an inroads, so I try hard to not let that happen and, I am most thankful that with God called on I can put Satan under my feet under my feet he goes, horns smooshed :)

Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. :)
