Duchess, I'm literally shocked that an MD suspected that you had lymphoma 4 years ago and did not immediately refer you to an Oncologist. Four years of untreated Lymphoma could have killed you whereas early diagnosis and treatment has a high success rate (I know, I'm a survivor).

I had FOUR doctors tell me that I probably had lymphoma. The reason I didn't have a biopsy 4 years ago is because it didn't hurt. I also have horrible insurance. I rely on over worked and poorly paid doctors who run clinics. The doctor appointment I had this morning was promising. She is running TONS of blood work, I've to do two x-rays, and she disabled me for a couple months "to start". After she does all these common tests to rule out immune diseases, she can refer me to an immunologist. Did I mention I had crappy insurance? But! I'm thankful I have it.

And I'm glad you survived it! :D

I was diagnosed at 13. A biopsy was performed 4 weeks after my initial appointment about the swollen lymph nodes in my neck. The only reason for the wait was to make sure there wasn't an infection causing the swelling. Thirty years later.....
