Actually it would have to be an equilateral triangle. An isoceles triangle can have two points converging without the third point getting closer.

I shared this story once in the chat....but worth shareing again since you made that comment :)

My youth group did a dating forum thingy once where we could ask questiond of a few marred couples etc..

one person asked out youth pastor how he knew Darlene was the one for him.

He went on to say that they had been dating for over a year and he KNEW she was ready to get married. (guys, mental note here.....she will almost always be ready before you will..lol)
He was feeling a bit insecure about finances, and all that sort of logical stuff.

He had been feeling very overwhelmed by the whole thing. He did not want to be rushed into something that he may not be ready for...nor did he want to wait and possibly lose Darlene.

They went for a hike one day and stopped at an overlook. Dave was VERY taken with Gods beauty in nature....and just stood there and silently prayed..*God!!!!...I DO NOT know what to do! I feel just crazy about this situation. If Darlene is the woman for me....and you want me to marry her then you better just hit me over the head or something because I am just not hearing from you!*

......10 seconds later a tree branch fell out of the tree right onto his head. :)

The next day he went and bought a ring and proposed. :)

I love that!!! God has a great sense of humour doesn't he!

I have had a list of qualities I want in a husband for many years, it really hasn't changed - but I think as I have matured it has become more flexible in the "wants" rather than the "musts". I too need someone with a good sense of humour - I cannot imagine living with someone who doesn't get the same funny out of life that I do.
I also will not marry (or date) a smoker. That is non-negotiable. Same applies for drugs.
I would like someone who can play an instrument or sing - but that is a preference of something I am attracted to and not necessarily going to be the deal breaker if they don't.

I've stopped praying for the moment (for a husband), I spent many years crying out to God to bring this man into my life and it's not happened yet, so I figure - God's heard me... many times, and I'm sure He rolls his eyes and whispers... just WAIT my child... but me, being impatient just sits on the bed and sulks...so anyway - he's heard me, he knows my heart and my desires I dont have to keep reminding and asking...

I'll probably go back to praying again soon though... just as a friendly prompt haha

If it was an equilateral triangle and a dot at one corner was moving up the side to the top corner, the dot would get closer to the opposing lower corner until it got to the midpoint of the side, THEN it would get further away, but only after getting closer. I suppose it would be the same for an isoceles, but it would take less time for the dot to start moving away from the opposing corner instead of towards it.

The way I look at it now is way different then the way I did 6 months ago. I used to think that as long as they were "Christian" that it doesn't matter. I have come to a conclusion that a lot of so called Christians aren't at the same pace you are at. Not taking anything away from them. I mean i'm pretty sure all of us single people would love to meet that right person within the next minute and everything work out just like that. I believe that God has a plan for all of us, and that even means relationship status. As long as we let go and let God, we truly cannot be upset. I just pray that the person that is brought into my life is gonna A. help me in my walk with God, B. Loving, C. share alot of the same qualities(not gonna name them right now, kinda long) D. Looks are a plus and there are many others. I mean we can be as specific as we want. God wants to hear what we want in life. As long as we're humble and patient it'll work out BETTER THAN EXPECTED! I just think of the song While I'm Waiting by John Waller!!! when I get impatient.

I know for me I have 2 lists, one must haves and the other must not haves. I do look to see if God seems to be opening the door to a possible relationship as well.
I have two lists too. Although, Im pretty sure God would laugh at me if I expected a perfect partner as no ones perfect but I use them as a guideline.

I am pretty dense.. God will probably have to bonk me on the head and thunk me a couple of times with a billbaord that says: this is the right one for you!

yeah.. sad but true...
I personally wouldn't mind a bonk on the head if it meant finding the right girl for me :p

When you pray for the right future partner and marriage, how do you know if the person is the one that God chooses and provides for you?Do you pray for specific qualities? Do you ask for some signs? Does God bring only one person to your life at a time or several people when you are looking for the right one?
i list down the spesific qualities. then check how many points the candidates have. the closest to the qualities is the sign than he's the rite 1.
