What level of messy would be a deal breaker?

I'm a hardcore minimalist. If I don't regularly use something, I'll store it or throw it away. Which means I don't have necessarily have clutter, unless I'm stuck with having to keep a bunch of stuff and then I feel trapped and annoyed by its presence.

I value Sanitary conditions but not necessarily neat conditions. I might have a few tools and electronics laying about, but that is more for utility than appearance. Well most things I have are more for utility than appearance.

Also I can't stand not having the utility of counter space or an empty sink. People who dust religiously and hoard pictures frames and trinkets, drive me bonkers. My family was always big on covering all horizontal surfaces with nonsense and then cleaning all the time. So were their friends.

Ideal... put two laptops on the desk. Maybe a statue, no lamp and thats me.

The typical house of most people I know who clean too much...

...Also pretty much a staple of my Nightmares when I think about a future spouse.
That second pic made me twitch a little. Way too much visible clutter.

That bottom photo of Liamson's looked like my gramma's house. I almost need my inhaler from visualizing the dust. :)

Growing up in a military family that moved often, I have never really been attached to stuff. The more stuff I have the more stuff I have to take care of. George Carlin did an entire comedy routine on this once, but he's not known for pure language, so I'm not gonna waste my time trying to youtube it. :)

Some things have sentimental value (special gifts, family heirlooms, etc.), but as a rule if I don't use something or wear something on a regular basis, it doesn't stay around long. It could be more useful to someone else. Even if I keep it, it will usually be put away somewhere. Now that my son is older and many family members have passed, I do like seeing their photos, but I will put them in montage frames on the wall so that my shelves/tables are not cluttered and I have fewer things to dust. :) The rest are in organized boxes. :D

I'm a neatfreak. Not as obsessive as I was in younger days (having a child around makes one a bit more lenient), but it's still there. :) It's easier for me to deal with this if I don't have a lotta stuff around.

I don't think it'd be a dealbreaker... as long as they didn't mind me cleaning up all of their messes :)

Being a former hoarder, I can't stand to be around very much clutter or house debris. It brings me back to bad times. If my mate makes a big mess, I will have the unwavering urge to clean and organize it. And I won't stop until the job is done.

I love my wife, but she is so messy! Way more than me!

I think love is more important though.

Good Lord I hope it's not a deal breaker or I'll be alone for life. I try. I really do. But I was handicapped when it came to cleaning. My mom only cleaned when we got inspected and then it was hysterics for 24 straight hours. My idea of fun as a child was playing hide and seek. The best spot was in the laundry room. There was consistently enough laundry to cover two small children.

Really, it depends on where I'm at and what I'm doing. I would consider myself artsy (art, singing, writing), and I would say that I'm organized, though sometimes it's organized chaos. It kind of just depends. My car and my station at work I like to keep clean and organized. My room is a bit more...relaxed. :)

I get in cleaning moods, where I will just be a cleaning tornado and get everything done at once. I have a few friends who clean when they get stressed. I wish I did something productive like that when I'm stressed. :p

I'm okay with a little mess. When I'm in my creative modes, I usually create one, anyway: papers spread out, pencils and chalk pastels and paint every which direction, streaks of color from the chalk on my face, hands messy, oblivious to the world except for the one I'm creating.

Where mess becomes a problem for me is when it starts to get smelly, is really in the way, or is just plain disgusting. Unorganized is different than messy. Unorganized I could handle; disgustingly messy I could not.
My room can be messy. But it's because I don't put stuff back. lol

I can be a stress-cleaner, or a stress baker. Depends on what's stressing me or making me upset. :p Lately, though, the cleaning side has won out. If it gets to be too much though, I'm getting out the whisk and the mixing bowl (yeah, when I can, I whisk things, I won't use an electric mixer. Even though it sounds pathetic, I do it to get arm strength built up).

But usually...I get my room all nice and organized, and just HOURS after I've done all that hard work, it's undone again. lol
