It might be different because you're a guy? I dunno. If an attractive guy stranger wanted to befriend me, the first thought running thru my mind was that he saw my profile picture and most likely doesn't have the best intentions. Its pretty sad that I default to that thought, but some guys are really shameless. Plus a girls' really got to be safe online. Its all about boundaries. Where as if a attractive girl befriending a guy may make the guy feel flattered.
Yes, that's it exactly. In my case anyway.

People its the internet if they friend you it doesnt mean you will be molested physically.
Well if I'm not going to be molested physically? Then what's in it for me?

(I know this is a really bad joke, but it's a weird thread)

Re: If an attractive stranger requests your friendship on facebook should you accept

I play some of the facebook games. I try not to "share" the stupid little accomplishments within the games as to not annoy my real facebook friends.

I have also sent out some friend requests to people who have "attacked" me or vice-versa in Mafia Wars, which I used to play. The larger your mafia is, the more stuff you can do within the game, so I have befriended a lot of people who I have never met. Though I don't play this any more, I enjoy the posts of my non-friends. One is a Christian who started a photography business in Dallas - really cool wedding shots. One is a very sad woman in New England somewhere who I occasionally give a positive message to. One I unfriended because he was posting neo-nazi stuff. Another is just plain crude, but kind of funny when not over-the-top. He has almost been unfriended several times, but he is rather harmless. Most are just normal people, and it gives me an insight about life in other parts of the world.

Pray and ask them , 'Why they want you as a friend." What in your profile attracted them to you?
Disclosure: I have FB stock , but I'm not on FB for 2 years now but have an account.

Oh you have FB stock? Ya, I imagine there isn't much time to post social updates when you are sitting on a beach somewhere drinking one of those drinks with the little umbrellas. Wifi there must be lousy.

If an attractive stranger wants to be your friend on FB,

say you'll be their friend as soon as you can check them out...
so you'll need their home address, home phone, and social security number.

: )

I really hope you sold some of it today or yesterday. I'm pretty sure it will come back down before going up further.

That is very close minded.

You have to be a stranger to someone before you meet them, no matter what the setting is that you meet them.
I agree with shouryu. i guess they can take the option of writing a message to me to go along with the friend request since you don't have to be friends to do that.....if a stranger wants to make it onto my friends list they'll have to make a good case for it. i have to cull the list far too often to be letting random people take up space. i don't even keep ACTUAL friends/family on my list if they don't regularly interact with me on there.

Okay... I had to come back to call myself a hypocrite. A friend of a friend sent me a request via facebook and he's dead handsome and likes Zelda. I can't turn that down.

I would only accept the friend request if I had amnesia, and the attractive stranger was myself.
That's the funniest thing I've heard all day.

EDIT
I think he found this post, read it, and said "challenge accepted." which makes this entirely unfair.

Re: If an attractive stranger requests your friendship on facebook should you accept

I would first write to this "attractive stranger" and ask them who the heck they are and why they sent a friend request.

I have only ever had one attractive stranger where I accepted their friend request and we have been great friends for a number of years now but I doubt that would happen very often on facebook
