No just regular goats. Goats are funny and cute. My Brother has goats, they're awesome.

When I was a little girl I went with my friend to visit her Grandparents on their farm. They had a goat, he would chase us, then let us pet him, then chase us again. He was a funny little guy.
fun.

hmmm... i wouldn't mind having diary goats, but i'm not a big fan otherwise. : ) they're ok.

we had two goats that we mostly used to eat down the brush/weeds. the male goat was kind of weird. i was able to train him to do a number of things, including charge my brother on command (he picked on me). but what i remember most is how bad they smelled. phew.

kids on the other hand are a lot of fun. . ; ) i mean, goat kids, btw.

I would give 95% of it away. I don't need anything.

I would be more worried about Camels and Needles than, "Doing it Right."
that's precisely why i would never waste my money on the lottery.

Intact male goats do NOT make good pets, because when they are in rut they put out a SERIOUS smell, and do lots of flirting for the lady goats. Unless someone is using a male for breeding purposes, it's best to get a wether.

agreed 100%. i know the goat i am referencing was altered, however, he still retained way too many of the charming qualities you describe. i don't know about you, but the wethers aren't enough less obnoxious (or as you aptly put, flirtatious) than the uncut males that would persuade me to want one around, frankly.

i've always thought it would be nice to have a couple dairy goats. i have a friend who has a small operation not far away from here. didn't i read somewhere that you grew up with dairy goats, graceLR?

Yes, I grew up on a very small dairy goat farm, and the kids are simply adorable I agree! Wethers, if banded as babies, will grow up to be just as gentle and odorless as does, but if they are "taken care of" later they can retain some of their masculine traits. (I'm trying to be delicate so our male CC readers don't get too woozy, hahahaa.)

Goats make great horse companions too! Louisiana Downs is near here, and they used to keep goats in some of the stalls to keep the horses calm, and for company. I don't know if they still do that or not. :)

gotcha. well, what you've said about the wethers makes perfect sense, i suppose. the principle holds true for horses, and i am guessing other animals too.

yeah, i've heard of people doing that, goat companions. for those who can't have a second horse, they say goats are the next best thing, and i can imagine how helpful they'd be, especially for those high strung warmbloods. how neat is that?

thanks for the info. : )

I often think about this although I only play the lottery once in awhile. Here's what I'd do...

1. Buy a nice home

2. Get my car repainted (I'd want to keep my trusty old honda) :)

3. Buy a good convertible sports car (I've always wanted a sports car)

4. Open a center for abused children and donate to organizations that help rescue abused kids

5. Donate a bunch to St Jude Medical Center (research hospital for chronically and terminally ill children),and the Starlight Foundation (brightening the lives of very ill children)

6. Start several scholarships and grants for young people who come from poor families and want to go to colleged

Hmmm!

Here is where I would give money:

1) - Open orphanages and shelters.
2) I would ask you WHY do you need Poe´s desk (That is where your money would be lost and misused) But you are FREE to use YOUR money where you wanted.
3) I would use some money to move abroad (to a country GOD would lead me to move out of Venezuela)

woW!

I spent more than 10 years like this, but I failed buying the land I thought it would be "mine" for more than 20 years.

That would be my number 4) option.

Thanks for the feedback, Wiseman!

Hahaha it's not that I need it. Good question. This author is my someone I deeply admire. I love him and everything about him. His words have such deep meaning I just think it would be cool to have something that belonged to my 'hero' if you will.

Also it would probably be a source of inspiration since I too am a writer.

I hope I get A LOT to share responsibility with someone who thinks this way: "I'd give a large chunk to church/ministry - I'd have to do some research and praying about how to go about spreading it out in the best way.I'd give a large chunk to church/ministry - I'd have to do some research and praying about how to go about spreading it out in the best way."

I think life can be used as part of the "lottery" God gave us as stewards, here on earth.

I´d better watch on how THAT won money is used (or misused)

I haven´t read his bio, but I once also loved Oscar Wilde´s writings but, when I knew he was same-sexed... I declined to admire him (as others).

His desk is not a talisman nor anything who would inspired you. Love is the well to drink to be inspired and, if God allows, you will receive full-hand (I hope those open hands be filled to write).

Is this thread about what we might do if we won the lottery or is it a thread where we are supposed to judge and lecture people regarding the things they MIGHT spend their money on in a hypothetical situation? Some people seem to be a bit confused about that, huh?
