For all people who are thinking about leaving:
Throughout your entire life people will offend you. Sometimes unintentionally and other times purposefully. You cannot run away from all of them unless it is okay for you to live in cabin in the wildreness for the rest of your life. In a recent thread I talked about ignoring those people who are trolls. That also goes for people who are just out right ignorant/racist/prejudice or plain mean.
I do not know the exact situations that may make you want to leave but I do know that this site has probably helped you more than these comments have hurt you. Do not throw it all awy for that.
I am a Black woman in America. I know alot about racisim and stereotypes. I know people who think all black people are ugly or we all look alike, that we are stupid and 5 kids with 4 babies daddys. Sometimes when I go to the grocery store and swipe my debit card the casheir asks me if its EBT (food stamp card) Why would she be asking me that? Then I think to myself, "I have a better job and more education than you how dare you decide that I am on welfare?"
We have to face it society is full of people that have their own opinions and attitudes about people who are different from them, but we cannot let that stop us from living our lives.
Where would I be if I quit college because some other students offended me with their comments about ebonics, financial aid, welfare, stealing, shaking a ghetto bootie, etc. You cannot let other peoples action dictate your life.
