LOL And you actually should be scared of these guys... some of those hairs are actually poisonous spines disguised as hairs. I accidentally smacked a tree limb with my hand in my garden one time and there was a green one hiding on the branch... my first thought was that I'd just smacked the branch really hard (it felt at first like that sensation when you get smacked really hard by a thin branch), but then it almost instantly started stinging and I was like "Thorns! No, wasps!" and a whole dotted trail of little welts formed on my wrist. It did sort of feel like multiple wasp stings, so I went into the house and slathered it in Benadryl (life saver, that stuff is) and showed it to my dad because there was no way that was a wasp sting. He suggested it might be an asp. So I went back out there to check and sure enough... the little beastie was out there, trying to make a getaway. So much for that...
I felt one crawling down my back!!
LOL In Dallas when I was a kid there was this specific kind of blue and orange caterpillar that would absolutely cover the trunks of the oak trees... hundreds of them. I remembered I thought they were the softest things in the world, and I would pull 20 or 30 of them off the tree at a time and feel them crawl out of my hands... Nobody's ever felt their skin REALLY crawl until they've tried THAT! xD
Aww, I think caterpillars look cute. Then again we only got the Wooly Bears really up here, and they're not venomous...at least I think they aren't.

Just kind of an interesting pointless trivia fact. Vermillion (a city in Ohio) has a wooly bear festival every year and the local weatherman Dick Goddard is a big wooly bear fanatic. Local legend has it one can predict the severity and duration of the winter by the length of the orange band around their waist, lol but idk about that, learned a long time a go Ohio weather is unpredictable.
I usually think they're cute, too, GIS, but I've decided asps are something I'll admire from a distance or with gloves on LOL
I'm pretty sure wooly bears are venomous, but perhaps they're easier to handle that some of the others... I do think those are pretty cute, though.
