I think the answer to this is going to be so different from person to person based on their experiences (whether first hand or through family/friends - we've all known someone who has suffered from a loss of love).

For myself, I have never regretted loving someone. It's the most precious gift we can give, and by giving it we grow as emotional and spiritual creatures. I hope that I will always feel that way.

I loved how you said this. I am the type of person that wears her heart on her sleeve and puts my heart and soul in everything and I so very much want to be desired and appreciated. By the way it doesn't sound silly because many people don't realize what they had until it is gone and there are some instances where it can be obtained, but not many. You a wise man Galahad
Thank you. Glad you found some positive in the reply. You are so kind.

You put your heart and soul into whatever you do. That investment of self will pay you many and various dividends throughout your life. I thought of Colossians 3:23.

Colossians 3:17
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Colossians 3:23
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.

The whatsoever of verse 23 is limited. Sin can never be done in the name of the Lord. A person can engage in honest labor in the name of the Lord. Then that person can also work heartily as unto the Lord. A person can make sacrifice in a marital relationship and do so in the name of the Lord. Then that can be done heartily. Etc.

Hope these verses strengthen you and your following of the Lord's teaching.
