Julianna: What's the lamest excuse you've ever heard from an alleged perpetrator?

NodMyHeadLikeYeah: Why do you keep playing with our hearts by comingandgoingandcomingbackandthengoingagain? Sheeeesh, woman! :D

Keep_on_smiling: I don't know you very well, but you personality seems to fit your screen-name quite well :). Was there a particular reason for choosing it?

NiceguyJ: What do we have to do to get you to post more, dang it?!? Don't make us kidnap your guitar and hold it for ransom.....minimum 2 posts per day average, or it's curtains for Mr. Stringy. Capisce? :p

Nukepooch: What is the square root of turnips?

Zeroturbulence: How long have you been playing drums? :)

Adekruif: Paper or plastic?
ONE OF THE DUMBEST THINGS EVER SAID: In an area where numerous thefts of gasoline had been reported I spotted a pickup truck with a bed full of gas cans. I also found the driver of the pickup sharing the cab with several more gas cans..... smoking a cigarette. *facepalm* He looked at me said, "It's not what it looks like, Officer." ONE OF THE DUMBEST THINGS EVER SAID TO ME DURING A TRAFFIC STOP: "I'm sorry, Officer. I was in the back seat with my son". 0-0
THE DUMBEST CALL I EVER RECEIVED FROM DISPATCH: Investigate low flying aircraft. MY RESPONSE: Okay....but what do you want me to do when I find it? I know Bruce Willis took out a helo with a police commission in Die Hard, but it really doesn't happen all the often in real life. I was going to answer this yesterday but was interrupted.

I started taking drum lessons in high school after I realized that being on the football team meant being around a bunch of obnoxious jocks who thought the universe revolved around them. A friend of mine who played drums convinced me to quit the football team and join the band. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. I can't imagine what my life would be like if I hadn't taken up drumming.

Everyone: What's your social security number?
I've got a better deal for you. My father is a Nigerian oil magnate, but he needs an offshore account to store his millions.

You get a cut of 89% if you send me your bank account information and as a show of trust I will send you my SSN.

Everybody wins, American!

What are those?? It looks like bananas, carrots, and cranberry jelly in a weird, squished, square form...
According to Smom's reply to her question to me...that is the 'square root of turnips'.

Sorry, Snackersmom...I was just notified by someone that pays a whole lot more attention than I do that you asked me not to call you that.
So...I ask for forgiveness on the basis that I'm ignorant.

PopClick: Froot Loops or Top Ramen?
BOTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Adekruif: Favorite video game?

Rachelsedge: I apologize in advance if this is too personal, but you mentioned self-harm in the forums. How did you get free from that?

Arwen: I think (?) I remember you saying that you're the only Christian in your family. How did you come to Christ?

Tintin: How does it feel that nobody asked you a question, and furthermore, how does it feel that my question just now invalidated my question and therefore made it impossible to answer?

I find it disappointing and I'm utterly miserable :p. Your question is hilarious and cleverly-worded and not really a question. Thanks!

No problem, apology 100% accepted. :) Hey, you could have even apologized on the basis that you were trying to be a jerk, and I still would have accepted it........70 x 7. ;)

Rachelsedge: The white squares in the top left are the square root of turnips. The orange ones are the square roots of carrots, and the red ones are the square roots of beets. Ignore me, my sense of humor doesn't always make sense or humor ;).

On a side note, I have a question for ya, Miss Rachel! First off, welcome to the forums, I've really enjoyed reading your posts. Your screen-name intrigues me...how did you choose it? :)

Arwen: I believe you've said that you're majoring in counseling and psychology? If so, what drew you them? :) Also, if I were to change my avatar now to make your first post look kuh-rayzee......would you get mad? :p

Ritter: What drew you to politics? Were you interested in them as a child, as well? How far do your aspirations go......president, maybe? Or perhaps you prefer playing a behind-the-scenes-role? And have I asked you too many questions?

Julianna: Lol @ the guy's aromatherapy session with the cigarette and gas cans. Not sure which was dumber, his potential explanation or his potential explosion! But don't just stand there......there's helicopters to arrest! :D

Zeroturbulence: That's really neat about how you got started on drums. :) If you ever want to post an audio clip, I'd love to hear it! :)

Asifinpassing: You've mentioned that you're involved with youth ministry. Care to share more? Got any big future plans with it?

Arwen: I think (?) I remember you saying that you're the only Christian in your family. How did you come to Christ?

Yep I am. Kind of have a story, its been a process not a specific day... hope thats okay...I guess I was first introduced to the church when I was really little. When my grandma was alive, she'd take me to morning Mass at a Catholic church whenever I would sleepover at her place. I was so intrigued by it, the smell of the incense; the whole thing. It was very beautiful and holy to me. It was just different, I don't know if I felt God's presence or what but it was nice. My grandma gave me a rosary, and a bible to read. I enjoyed reading it, even though I didn't understand it much. I remember my parents weren't too keen on it but whatever.

Then throughout my life, friends would come and go that were christians, sometimes I would go to their church or youth group. Then something happened in my life that made me question God~ who He is and who I thought He was. It was a big slap in my face realizing that God can't protect me/ or could but chose not to. This led to many many years of distrust and hate towards God. I never ceased to believe in God, but questioned ALOT and became very cynical (a trait I REALLY struggle with). I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 14 and since then, when my seizures weren't being controlled my medications (like they are now), I had to rely on God when I would go unconscious, and trust Him that I would wake up, that I would still be alive. Even though I was angry with God, I had to have faith, because a lot was out of my control. I remember one time, as I felt myself going under, I said to God, 'okay, I am in your hands'. Then I started dating this guy in high school that went to church, I ended up going to it and getting baptized there. I stopped going after we broke up.

In my early 20's, I made some poor choices, and kind of put God on the outskirts of my life. Until I had a wake up call and looked at who I had become and seeked God earnestly, a few years later I decided to go to a Christian University. I figured if I am to seek God, this would be a good place to do it plus, I didn't have christian friends at the time so it would be nice to meet some people. And maybe discover my purpose in life. So I'm not sure when 'I came to Christ', or if I have even arrived yet.

Seoulsearch: Um...something about dating the elderly...Uhhh...Oh, here's a good one. Why do you put up with my shenanigans? Let me rephrase that...Why did you beg/plead to put up with my shenanigans again?
SeoulSearch- where you at? Its been awhile since you've posted
To answer both questions in one fell swoop... Where am I? Why, I'm right here, putting up with Nuke Pooch's shenanigans,, of course!!
:)

I actually didn't beg and plead with Nuke every day to come back, I simply did what I knew to do. Kept in touch and tried to be a friend, asking him how he was, even if that was once every 6 months. And, wonder of wonders, it worked. :) There are many posters I would love to keep up with here if I had the time, but Nuke, I remember coming home after long, stressful days, and LAUGHING over so many of your posts, they became a pick-me-up at the end of the day. We never truly know how our words will affect others.

Arwen--I'm here occasionally, and have been doing more reading that posting. I've just been so busy lately that it's been hard for me to juggle everything... That, and I was spending very unhealthy amounts of time online. But I do still peruse the Singles forum now and than... And, I always look for your threads.

All right, Nuke. Carry on with your shenanigans, you hooligan.
:p

I made the I've always wanted to ask thread!!??!! 0_0 ...so someone does care!! YvY (<---crying smiley face)

I'm the youth director of a combination of two Methodist churches, Wesley & Crown Heights in Oklahoma City! They combined to keep the ministry going.

It's been great, and I'm fairly regularly involved in the lives of about a dozen youth from 5th - 12th grade! That said, I do not (nor have before) felt called into youth ministry (specifically). My calling is actually to be an Ordained Elder in the Methodist church (senior pastor).

The youth position was God's provision (hopefully not just for me..^^), and a good step in my ministry-life journey. I'll continue this semester (or possibly full year depending), then go into seminary and student pastoring as my next step. Thank you for asking!

Jullianna: What's it like to be a 10? (seriously...)

Ritter: How is being a young Sherlock Holmes treating' ya?

Snacker's Mom: How are you always so awesome?! (just curious...)

Everyone: Have you clicked the links in my sig?! (I'm actually starting to get a few likes, friends, and subscribers!)

No problem, PopClick. :) I'm not really sure. I guess the most accurate answer would be because of time, personal growth, finding better ways to cope/express, and, most importantly, by the grace of God. I never went to counselling, and in fact, I never even told anyone (literally anyone, not even my family) that I had struggled with it until a couple of years ago. I told my family on Thanksgiving night in 2010. How horrible is that, to drop that kind of bomb on them on such a holiday? Ha. It's just that it was a busy week (I was on break from college) and it was one night where I knew everyone would be in the house at the same time. :p

Thanks, I've enjoyed being here. I've actually been on CC since October but didn't start venturing onto the forums until a few weeks ago!

My username is my first name and an abbreviation of my last name. Apparently I didn't think too carefully about anonymity. Some people think it's "Rachel's Edge", and it's not, but it sounds cool so I usually let it slide. :D

Tintin - Did you see the Tintin movie that came out a couple of years ago?

Ritter - Did you ever ask out that one girl? I have a pretty good memory and I remember that one of the first threads I posted on a few weeks ago was where you were questioning whether it'd be creepy to call up a girl you hadn't talked to in a while and ask her out. How did that go?

Asifinpassing - I feel like I asked you this before on chat a long time ago, but maybe not so I'm asking again, but is that your dog in your avatar? Huskies/malamutes are such pretty dogs!

PopClick - I don't know if you saw my response to your comment on the picture of my kitten (I don't know if it notifies you or anything) but I have no idea what her mom looked like. :) Do you have any cats?

I love smiling and things that make me smile :) With God by our side all the time, through everything, it's hard for me not smile. I thought it would be a great reminder for myself and others :)

Snackersmom: I read your earlier post about your name and it actually surprised me. You aren't a mom? :)

Jullianna- Do you belong to a mentoring group in your church? It's hard for me not to see you in that position. :)

PopClick- I happened to look at your profile, which is something I rarely do, but I noticed "Expectations" in your about me section, did you write that?

Awesome! He can handle any of our burdens, huh? Even the ones that seem too big to manage. Hugs! (Unless you don't like hugs. Then never mind.)

PopClick - I don't know if you saw my response to your comment on the picture of my kitten (I don't know if it notifies you or anything) but I have no idea what her mom looked like. :) Do you have any cats?
Ooh, it didn't notify me. I don't exactly have any cats, while simultaneously having a bunch of cats. Lol... I work at a pet store. We had a kitten one time that looked SO much like yours. At first glance, a normal brown tabby, but one of her paw pads had a patch of white on it with a teeny spot of orange beside it. And I knew for sure that kitten had a calico gene. Since calicos are never fertile males, it seemed probable that your kitten's mother was one.
