Why is it that so many people read a few words and jump to these ridiculualy distorted ideas. Doesn't anyone real ALL of the Bible?

PSALM 22
My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
Why art thou so far from helping me, from the words of my groaning?

2
O my God, I cry by day, but thou dost not answer;
and by night, but find no rest.

3
Yet thou art holy,
enthroned on the praises of Israel.

4
In thee our fathers trusted;
they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.

5
To thee they cried, and were saved;
in thee they trusted, and were not disappointed.

6
But I am a worm, and no man;
scorned by men, and despised by the people.

7
All who see me mock at me,
they make mouths at me, they wag their heads;

8
“He committed his cause to the Lord; let him deliver him,
let him rescue him, for he delights in him!”

9
Yet thou art he who took me from the womb;
thou didst keep me safe upon my mother’s breasts.

10
Upon thee was I cast from my birth,
and since my mother bore me thou hast been my God.

11
Be not far from me,
for trouble is near
and there is none to help.

12
Many bulls encompass me,
strong bulls of Bashan surround me;

13
they open wide their mouths at me,
like a ravening and roaring lion.

14
I am poured out like water,
and all my bones are out of joint;
my heart is like wax,
it is melted within my breast;

15
my strength is dried up like a potsherd,
and my tongue cleaves to my jaws;
thou dost lay me in the dust of death.

16
Yea, dogs are round about me;
a company of evildoers encircle me;
they have pierced[a] my hands and feet—

17
I can count all my bones—
they stare and gloat over me;

18
they divide my garments among them,
and for my raiment they cast lots.

19
But thou, O Lord, be not far off!
O thou my help, hasten to my aid!

20
Deliver my soul from the sword,
my life from the power of the dog!

21
Save me from the mouth of the lion,
my afflicted soul[c] from the horns of the wild oxen!

22
I will tell of thy name to my brethren;
in the midst of the congregation I will praise thee:

23
You who fear the Lord, praise him!
all you sons of Jacob, glorify him,
and stand in awe of him, all you sons of Israel!

24
For he has not despised or abhorred
the affliction of the afflicted;
and he has not hid his face from him,
but has heard, when he cried to him.

25
From thee comes my praise in the great congregation;
my vows I will pay before those who fear him.

26
The afflicted[d] shall eat and be satisfied;
those who seek him shall praise the Lord!
May your hearts live for ever!

27
All the ends of the earth shall remember
and turn to the Lord;
and all the families of the nations
shall worship before him.[e]

28
For dominion belongs to the Lord,
and he rules over the nations.

29
Yea, to him[f] shall all the proud of the earth bow down;
before him shall bow all who go down to the dust,
and he who cannot keep himself alive.

30
Posterity shall serve him;
men shall tell of the Lord to the coming generation,

31
and proclaim his deliverance to a people yet unborn,
that he has wrought it

...Because the Bible is really long, I guess? I mean, it can take weeks to finish even one section...but at least they should still try.

I like this! My brother and I played school too. He's older, so I was usually the student.

Question - Does Kombucha really work? Or is it just another expensive fad? I've been wondering about it.
What are you expecting it to work for? Real Kombucha that you make (not this store-bought stuff, I have no faith in that), is very healthy and makes me feel much better. I love it when I come in from a hot day, because it is an immediate pick-me-up and makes me feel energized again. It isn't a wonder cure, but I really love it.

Where in the bible did Jesus actually tell someone something that was not true?
When he said "My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?" :rolleyes: (God never really abandoned him)
(Matt. 27:46 NLT)
That's true enough, but in that verse He was not openly speaking to someone, telling them something that was not true.

This is the epitome of why I hate posting.

Genesis 1:1-31 (AKJV) In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved on the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
And God said, Let there be a firmament in the middle of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together to one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth: and it was so.
And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
And the evening and the morning were the third day.
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light on the earth: and it was so.
And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light on the earth,
And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creeps on the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
And God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creeps on the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Genesis 2:2-3 (AKJV) And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Amen

I think I got it Willie!

6 Then Jesus said to them, “My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready. 7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil. 8 You go up to this feast. I am not yet[b] going up to this feast, for My time has not yet fully come.” 9 When He had said these things to them, He remained in Galilee.
[h=3]The Heavenly Scholar[/h]10 But when His brothers had gone up, then He also went up to the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.

I was thinking about your question earlier today and swear I got it before seeing your hint. Do I get extra credit?

Does call into question if Jesus told a little white lie.

Technically, he could have gone to the feast an hour later and not have been telling a "white lie."

Depending on what version you read, it "could" go either way. Some clearly say He told them that He was not going to go to this festival, period.

If one of us had said the same thing, we would be jumping all over him for lying to us.

Who is the only Gentile to write any part of the Bible?
Luke (though few scholars believe he was a helinistic Jew).

Q: How many OT (Tanach) books did Jesus reference in the Gospels?

Ok, next question...

Why can't planes run the air conditioner when they are delayed a long time for takeoff at an airport?

Because then people will pass out from heat exhaustion and won't ask for more peanuts!

Question: Has anyone ever REALLY figured out how many "licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop"?

Came across this: My time ... - The proper time for my going up to the feast. We know not why it was not yet a proper time for him to go. It might be because if he went then, in their company, while multitudes were going, it would have too much the appearance of parade and ostentation; it might excite too much notice, and be more likely to expose him to the envy and opposition of the rulers.

John 7:6 Commentaries: So Jesus said to them, "My time is not yet here, but your time is always opportune.

Paul~ : Why did Jesus ask His disciples to pray with Him in the Garden of Gethsemane?
