buy cheap china products, then you must also believe slavery is just fine. cause that is how the cheap china stuff is made, with SLAVE labor. Since this nation outlawed slavery long ago, then no products made via slave labor should even be allowed to be imported.
If you want to go to that extreme, then NOTHING is safe to buy, because somewhere along the way it has probably touched something ethically suspect. I imagine you own some of these products yourself, or have eaten them or have transported them for your job.

First off, I'm not trying to bully anyone into buying or not buying at a certain place. Having said that, a comment was made in this thread suggesting that an individual person doesn't matter.

PLEASE don't feel like you aren't important, or that your actions can't make a difference. How many of you can remember something another person told you that you desperately needed to hear? Maybe you first heard the Gospel from someone who almost didn't mention it to you, yet did so anyway knowing you needed to hear it. Perhaps a non-verbal action someone did changed your life or kept you going until things got easier. Jesus only had a few apostles, and look what they did. They changed the world. What if Peter or Paul had decided that he was only one person and his change wouldn't matter enough to bother adjusting his actions? Easier to stay at home than go on a missionary journey to another country.

Jesus Himself changed the world more than anyone, of course, but He's God and, praise His name, He did something no human could do when He rescued us.

I realize that the person who seemed to think that his/her actions didn't matter was talking about economic power, but I'm still trying to make sure that everyone knows that their actions matter SO MUCH, and I believe that one day we'll see the extent.

A couple of observations:

It concerns me about ANY attitude such as
'everybody does this and no one's going to stop it, it would take a huge movement ...'

Motivation is key to any action. Motivation involves either ignorance, arrogance or understanding. Motivation or intent are key elements of the criminal legal system. Scripture simply tells us that the Lord judges the heart.

Witches and religious pagans are often minimalist. It focuses them on their lifestyle and keeps them from attaching to the world, and helps keep the world from being (wrongly) attracted to them. It is simply a way of avoiding attracting attention to themselves. Can we distinguish a Christian from a pagan from a witch?

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your path.

There is no end to the world's intellectual "wisdom" and yet none of it can change a man's carnal depravity. Yes, of course it's the brotherly thing to do serving others. But if we have to publicly boast about OUR personal agenda and bash other people for not doing what WE say they ought to be doing, then we're getting into self-righteous territory.

Why can't we just keep this light-hearted post as an opportunity to enjoy one another's friendship and share our simple likes?

Rather than derail the op, why doesn't someone make a new thread about economics?

Ooooh man...... and now witches and pagans are thrown in the mix and associated with minimalism?!

Really??

REALLY!?!?

ARE YOU SERIOUS???
