Hey Azure,
I've seen how they drive in the Philippines.
Riding around in an ambulance full of medical staff is probably the safest way to travel.
: )

Really glad to hear you're at a better job now.
Actually getting paid is a wonderful experience.
I recommend it for everyone.
: )

Regarding my movie list.. ummm... I have no idea what you're talking about.
I don't watch movies.
I've never even seen a movie.
In fact, I've never even heard of movies until just now.

Hey, I've been reading about utang no loob.
The way I understand it, if I do you some really important favor,
then you pretty much owe me for ever and ever and ever?
Ya know, Filipino politics are suddenly making a lot more sense to me.
: )
Hi again, Maxie!!! :D just got back from a case!!! (See??? I'm not so bad 'coz I took care of that first before making a new post on CC ;))

Yup, it feels awesome to get paid for work, and get paid on time at that!!! :cool:

As for traveling in an ambulance being the safest mode of transportation here...hmm...

Well, even though some public transport drivers are totally oblivious of the fact that ambulances should be given the right of way whenever the siren is on, we are fortunate that there are more people who are aware that they shouldn't try to overtake or cut in our path, putting us at lesser risk of figuring in vehicular accidents XD but it's pretty "exciting" riding with us, specially when we go at top speed. I've experienced being thrown off at a sudden turn whilst I was doing CPR on our patient XD thankfully our patient is strapped securely, even though me and my paramedics aren't!!! XD

As for movies and your lack of exposure thereof....I thought you were fond of certain non-Western movies that you want to keep hushed up??? :rolleyes: Fess up!!! There's nothing wrong about being fond of those movies XD if not, I'll introduce you to the joys of watching Korean movies ;) *wink*

About our Filipino culture of "utang na loob" or debt of gratitude....
Well, yes. It pretty much ties you or obligates you to someone who did a huge favor for you in the past, as if such favor could not be repaid unless you do something for them that is just as huge and important as the one they did for you. Personally, I don't like this particular part of our culture, since it becomes a source of emotional blackmailing, and somewhat tolerates lifetime dependencies and unreasonable sense of entitlement, which is commonly seen in extended families that is pretty much a norm here. And yup, it has been a popular bit that politicians use here. Which is why I've grown to hate Filipino politics >.<;

Um, so sorry for this derail!!! o.o; I'm going back to sharing some more movies that I remember being so fond of, and would love to keep watching :D

* Real Genius
* You've Got Mail

i can't think of a single movie that i don't get tired of watching.
most i don't want to see more than once. (or even once!)
after i know how it turns out and there is no more surprise, no more anticipation or mystery -- i'm disengaged.

unless you count life itself -- i am not tired of living :)
