A lot of people out there with these names you wouldn't name your children. Might hurt somebody's feelings. Why like a name and never name your child that? I like Valentino. Ivan. Octavius.

When I was a kid I'd tell my parents ii was changing my name to Ziggy Stardust, David Bowie's former stage name. I wasn't a huge Bowie's fan, I like some of his songs, I just liked the name. I'm glad I changed my mind.
That would have been a cool CC name... Ziggy Stardust :)

Carl....

Why? Apparently my name has become popular in media lately with TV Shows, movies and some YouTube comedy. When people are saying your name like "Caaarrrrlll" Or acting out a scene from a tv show with your name in it.

I called to order a pizza the other day. What do I hear in the back ground one of the kitchen staff yelling "Caaarrlll" Not funny and unprofessional.

Its getting annoying.

I didn't know that the name Carl had become popular. I remember Dad Carl on that show from the 90's, Family Matters.

I don't hide my name. It's right in my username. It just takes a bit of google-fu.

Way back when, before I soured on the idea of kids, I told myself I'd make sure to not name them anything that could be rhymed on the playground to make fun of them. Kids with names like chuck, doug, billy caught a lot of flak.

I am grateful my parents named me what people consider a normal name, Jennifer. Although there was always a ton of Jennifer's in school.

Slightly connected to topic...this thread prompted memory of my son not speaking to me for 3 days when he was little (maybe 5?) Because I wouldn't let him change his name to Dash.

Lol....I still remind him occasionally of this Ha
