What are some wierd things you do habitually?

I was just saying in another thread that I tend to flip a piece of cake over and just eat the cake part most of the time. That made me think about other oddities we all might have. Seemed like a fun thing to talk about. :)

Other goofy habits:

If someone has a loose thread, stray hair or piece of lint, I HAVE to help them. If I see a crooked picture, I have to straighten it. I went to a class reunion once and was standing by an upholstered wall while I waited for someone, and before I knew it it, I was picking lint off of the wall. He came up behind me and said, "They DO have someone here to do that you know".

When my pillow gets hot, I have to flip it over to the cold side. And I still tuck the quilt up around my neck right before I go to sleep like I did when I was a little girl so vampires wouldn't bite me. It doesn't stay that way, but it always starts that way. haha

Like that movie, The Wedding Planner, I eat the brown M&Ms last and never even thought about it until that movie came out. :)

Everything in my purse has to match even though no one can see it but me and my shoes are sorted by color.

I don't want anything out on my desk except for what I'm working on so nothing gets lost/misfiled.

I tend to eat one thing at a time, beginning with the thing I like least and ending with the thing I like best.

And after reading this, I've decided that I'm even more OCD than I thought. :)

Okay y'all! Your turn! :D

Once again, I did a thread like this once too..... titled *quirks* or something like that....but when I went to look it up under threads I had started, it was no longer there....so I guess it has been deleated.

Anyway.....I remember a number of people putting that they have to flip their pillows over to the cold side. lol

Some of my quirks.....when I have a hotdog, it really bugs me to have the ketchup and mustard on top...I like it under the hotdog. *shrugs* I just do.
~Laundry is just an issue with me.....things HAVE to be sorted a certain way. I can't help it. Now that I think about it....maybe it is not really a quirk...I think it is maybe more of an obsession. ;)
~The towels in my linen closet are all stacked with their folds going the same way.
~I crush cereal boxes, cracker boxes, etc before putting them in the trash. (I guess it takes up less room? I think I have always done it because my mom did it that way?) (my neighbor thinks this is very strange...she says its just trash..LOL)
~When we go out to eat (it is VERY rare that we do....and ussually @ a fast food place because its cheaper), I have my kids make themselves a placemat with a napkin they unfold. (my neightbor also thinks this is odd too.)

Ok...maybe I should stop....Jullianna, maybe we are a bit neurotic? Do you think we need therapy? LOL

I am like Jules I eat the things I like the least first so I can enjoy the rest of the meal.......

Grace I think crushing cereal boxes is good and it does take up less space....when I recyle my plastics I crush them....

I love pop tarts, not cooked, crushed up in my cereal.........

I HAVE to have the same seat on the same pew EVERY Sunday!!!!!!!!!! That cracks me up........even if it is taken up by a crazy pie stealing widder

I have to have a fan going in my bedroom YEAR round........it can be minus 20 outside and I am running a fan.....

Cant seem to pass up a tractor without buying it..............

cant think of anymore right now.........but will post as the come to me

Well, I think I'm strange but, I have a few habits.

1. I don't care about whites or colors, laundry happens.

2. I tend to cook and eat the things that everyone else is afraid of like the freezer burnt pork steak I'm eating right now or that ancient box of cereal that no one touched since it was purchased.

3. OK, the pillow thing is normal, cause that happens at least 2-4 times a night.

4. I'm ambidextrous so I usually eat with a fork in whichever hand happens to catch the fork.

5. I freak out when people leave dishes with water in them in a sink. or a sink full of stale dishwater. I call either of these things a sink abomination. I hate touching it.

6. I will pull a stray hair out of someone's head, not because it bothers me but, because I can.

7. In person I am the anti-grammar gestapo. If I know that its going to be someone else's button, I'll just push it all day.

8. I'm incredibly critical of my own driving. Not in a rules and regulations sense but in a what is the least offensive way to drive.

First off, yes, you all need therapy. Lots of therapy.

Here's what normal, sane people like me do:

-No icons are allowed to be on my computer desktop for more than a short time. I've got the trash bin that stays, and the rest needs to go away.

-M&M's must be sorted into colors. Under no circumstances shall one eat more than one color at a time. Blue is always first cause they're the nastiest. Other than that, the color with the least M&M's gets eaten first, and so on.

-If I'm on the road, and someone is coming up behind me fast, I will pull over and let them by. I can't stand to hold someone up...This is true when not driving as well. If I'm in a group that's holding others up, I'll move my group over to let them pass. If I'm in a car that is leading a slow parade, I will pitch a fit until the driver speeds up or pulls over.

-I need lots of alone time. When I need to shut down, there's no way around it. It doesn't matter that you're having a once-in-a-lifetime event that I simply MUST attend...I'll be home alone relaxing.

-If I'm talking with someone face-to-face, and my cell phone rings, I will ignore it. I also refuse to answer texts when talking...

-I love small things. Faced with a bunch of cars, I will instinctively head for the smallest...I love small technology. Tiny phones trump huge IPhones, in my opinion. I have a tiny laptop computer with a big honkin' processor in it so I can play games. Big things in small packages. You get the picture.

Oh, Hommer? Have you seen this one? I LOVE the idea of a brand new retro tractor! I just wish I could afford it...

haha this post is hilarious.
few quirks of mine....

- no matter what I always eat out of a bowl. I don't like plates

- if I'm driving with someone and they're directing and they tell me to turn either left or right, I always make the ''L'' signs with both hands so I'm able to tell which side's left or right haha, it's strange because I know my left from my right, it's just at that quick moment I forget.

- I have what some might call musical tourettes haha If someone says a line that reminds me of a song I can't help but to sing it out loud, there'll also be times where I just get random songs stuck in my head and sing them out loud.

- I'm quite fidgety, so I'm constantly doing something with my hands, either cracking knuckles, or tapping the table or clicking my fingers.

I'm a bit intrigued by this. What flavor pop tart, and what type of cereal??? (the combo does not sound very appetizing lol)
Also, what made you start doing that??

I have to have a fan going in my bedroom YEAR round........it can be minus 20 outside and I am running a fan.....

Because you like the cold air, or because you like the sound of the fan.
I run a fan in the summer.....and when the weather turns cold again, I always have to adjust to sleeping without the noise.

Grace, your ketchup think reminded me of something else. hahaha If I get a cheeseburger, I don't want anything to be on top of the cheese. I like the veggies and sauces under the burger and only the cheese on top. :)

Liamson - I totally HATE the stinky sink thing too! ESPECIALLY if they leave the water in and it sours. Or when someone uses the same dishcloth for an extended period of time thinking they're actually going to clean something. I can't even begin to imagine the bacteria they are sliming around...*shivers* Okay...I'm gonna have bad dreams now.

There's a dishwasher right by the sink at our office and people will leave dishes in the sink for the cleaning lady rather than rinsing things and putting them in the dishwasher.

I couldn't agree more. I'm definitely a keep right except to pass and I do my absolute best to not inhibit traffic. I know that even if some rice powered pocket rocket comes out of left field, I will do my best not to be a hindrance to his speed racer fantasy.

I do this as well...I also rip the boxes in half. When I am done with a paper napkin, I twist it into something that looks like a bow-tie.

I run a fan a lot as well. I started when I was a truck driver. When I came home, I couldn't get to sleep without the diesel truck noise, so the fan was the best substitute I had.

I don't like icons on my desktop either. I like everything on the taskbar at the bottom that I can get down there. :) What's the point of having cool pics on your desktop if there's stuff covering it up?

I've got four icons in the taskbar...I'm more of a start menu kind of guy...or, more often than not, I'll just find the program and run it directly.

Another thing...everything must be mouse driven. Keyboard shortcuts are not allowed.

......and I apparently have to use the same font, letter size, and color each time I post....cause if I forget one of the three for whatever reason, I edit. (again, I'm thinking therapy would be in order) lol

Driving oddities - I hate it when people won't let other people into traffic. And I hate to say it, but I think men are nicer about this than women. Older ladies seem better about it than young ladies. Sometimes I think maybe the younger ladies with the cellphones stuck to their ears simply have no clue that you're even there. :) I'm sure I make people behind me mad sometimes when I let others who have been waiting longer than those behind me get out.

I'm with Liamson on this one...but I go a step further. I will actually avoid buying clothing that can't be washed with everything else I own in the one-n-only laundry cycle that exists.

HAHAHAHAHA Grace! I kinda cringed at that one too. My first issue as a married lady was his lack of laundry sorting skills. And all of these years I'd been thinking he did it on purpose (he never had to wash another load of clothes EVER after that! haha). But maybe it wasn't intentional now that I read Liamson's post. :)

I have the propensity to arrange the front side of my clothing in the same direction, including the clothe hangers.

The pointed end of my pens and pencils are also arranged in the same direction.

I cover my books, including the hardcover ones.

# A cantonese friend of mine eats rice with a chopstick instead of a pair of chopsticks. She does it skillfully though.

I know I am going to regret asking this, but I am going to ask anyway. *sigh*

So, let me get this strait....you wash jeans with t-shirts, with bath towels, with underwear, with hoodies, with sweaters?

*gulp* Waits for the answer.
