Agreed, bean counting is tedious, but I love finance/investment theories, and econ....not that they're inherently creative areas of knowledge, but I'm a firm believer in the idea that one of the quickest ways of figuring a person or a company out is looking at where their money goes. Or where their money doesn't go. I also think there's an art to building an investment portfolio, but outside of school or work, I find that a lot of people just get turned off by the whole discussion.
Ohhhh I love the whole thing with investing and the economy and stuff. :) I find it really fascinating.

Okay, I don't LOVE math but I'm really good at it. The only problem is, I can only do mental math. I can't write out how I got there on a piece of paper. It led to a lot of teachers to think I was cheating.

I loved algebra. I also loved teaching math to kids when I worked at a academic tutoring place. It's so fun when they finally make connections on a skill they previously thought was super hard.

You're talking about proofs. Who needs proofs? That was the one thing I truly hated in geometry. And that was because I had to explain it on paper. I could easily show my work, but the minute I had to explain what to do on paper, yep, out the window. The funny thing is, I can explain how to problems verbally. (I guess you can easily guess what subject I barely passed every year. And it wasn't geometry.)

I'm an artist. My brain isn't equipped to handle math. Yes, I'm a very "right brain" person.

Ah but think how much more you could expand your mind if you could have a very strong left brain too. An artist with calculating, analytical and precise thinking. With that sort of talent, one could become a modern-day Leonardo Da Vinci or maybe a brilliant philosopher or problem-solver. Yes, once again I don't have a point. Just thought it was interesting.

I can't stand Maths. I always struggled with it at school and while I've improved in my understanding since, I still don't like the subject.

I truely, deeply, intensely and passionately hate it :p

Even if I manage to learn how to do a piece of math I don't understand how it actually works, making it tiring and annoying to do even "simple" things

I do have one useless math skill though: I know that PI is 3.1415926535

That's not useless. You might could win a Pie on Pi day.

I'm good with geometry. My brain loves shapes. But division is my Achilles heel.

Just thinking about math makes me throw up a little in my mouth.
I do it only because I have to! As Steve Jobs would say - "Oh,and one more thing..." what all the teachers told you about having to use trig & geometry,etc,etc...LIES! PURE & SIMPLE.:D lol

I'm good at math, I'm a left brain thinker with right brain tendencies. I'm good at spacial reasoning, and I like finding relationships between things. The math class I'm currently sitting in, however, is bad. The instructor should not be teaching the subject, and the only saving grace is that I can use my book on the final I'm about to take.

I like math with my job. It's fun to see how fast I can tally up how many parts there are and love for an order to come out just right. Of course I can't control that, others have their hands on the parts too, but try my best to do my part to have them all their. I can tell that my group leader appreciates that I do that; makes her job less stressful. I love math word problems. It's like a mystery that you have to figure out. I love mysteries!!

I amiss doing math. Not arithmetic, I do that all the time. Math. Highfalutin, theoretical type stuff. & crazy stuff that has crazy applications. The Calculus & Diff EQ that I could do in my head, the parts that I couldn't, the stats and probability... Oh, I miss these, but like star crossed lovers, it is not meant to be.
