No You Can't!! From the sounds of it, we won't be sleeping after death... and my Dad presented me with a horrific thought the other day.

I've always quoted a certain movie which states, "Dying is easy. Living is harder."

Well, the horrifying/possible truth my Dad presented me with was this, "What if that's wrong. What if this life is easier compared to heaven or hell, and our life after death will be even more challenging than our lives now."

Could that really be true...?? Why would you even say that to me?! @-@

Well, if there is no suffering in heaven/ the new earth, I don't see why it would be more challenging
and most challenges here are in some way related to sin (not always our own, but still sin in some sense)

but yea, I sometimes wish there was a third option of just.... not existing anymore

I mean, I get where he's coming from, but...

...there's usually a guide under the lid as to what they are...so... I guess no one ever told him, or he never noticed or got the memo from Apple...but um...tch.
Did anybody else notice someone ate most of the creams and left most of the rest?

Ooooh, but the dark chocolate/orange cream remains.... DIBS! I called it, hands off! Dibs dibs dibs!

"Smile and the world smiles at you" "Think positive and positive things will happen"
Those two really piss me off.... people just use it as en excuse to make it the individuals fault that others treat them badly

Awww I'm sad that you don't like that first one. It really is true. I tried it before. The second one works sometimes too, but it depends. I just see them as pieces of advice, not putting the blame on the person. I guess it depends on how it was said..

Haha I think if that had any truth to it, someone or something would have warned us by now...

"You can't have your cake and eat it too."

I don't get this one. Why would anyone want to have a cake they cannot eat? :p

UGH! Anything feminazis say is just stupid! I'm not talking about all feminists, just those that are extremely radical about it. (Which is usually most of them)

I'm with ya on the radical feminists. Yikes!

Anyway, there is a response to the radical feminist critique:

A man without a woman is like a neck without a pain. :)

The cake quote is referring to people who want multiple, mutually exclusive things. I want to eat my cake, but I want to still have it when I'm done.

Example: someone who wants good service from a car mechanic, and he wants the job done fast, AND he wants it done for an insanely low cost. In fact one mechanic put a sign on his shop:

"We offer three kinds of service - cheap, fast and good. Pick any TWO.
Good service fast won't be cheap.
Good service cheap won't be fast.
And fast service cheap is not going to be good."

The world says "to see is to believe"
God says "to believe is to see"
Jesus said, "Blessed are those who have not seen, and yet believe."

There are lots of quotes that got it wrong, and lots of us are wrong in quotes...and lots of wrong quote...and quote wrong... hmm...

So, for example, "Do as I say and not as I do." That makes no sense. They'll say as you say, and do as you do. That much is obvious, isn't it? Can a mirror reflect something other than what's in front of it? =/ Such strange but interesting beings...

Another peculiar thing... "You were destined to." or "It must be fate." or "It's my right." or "I was meant to do/be so."

How strange! So, you're saying there's a story that's already been written. You have a part in that story, and this thing pertains to your part in that story. I wonder, though... where did you learn of the story or your part to play in it? How do you know this is a requirement of that part?

If you really are 'destined' to play this part, then what happens if you don't? Can you lose your destiny? ...but if you can loose it, then it cannot be considered fate or destiny, which are inevitability. If things are not inevitable, though, then how can you be 'fated' or 'destined' for anything? Wouldn't that mean that your choices (or the choices of others) are what leads to all the outcomes of life?

What if an alternate reality existed in which you were not 'destined' for this part, or by rejecting that path have thus created that alternate reality? If you cannot escape it, then why announce your need of it? Would it not happen regardless of you?

So many further questions to think on in this manner on this matter... yet still some persist. So then, if your story is already written, what was the purpose of the story?

So many questions but the answers are so few. What I believe is that God reveals to us only the things that we need to know. God is omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent and His plan for us is to be reunited with Him. As with destiny, God directs our paths by giving us choices and these choices lead to more choices that will eventually become our destiny. God wants a loving relationship with us. And love that is not given freely is not very sweet and is not worth having at all so God gave us free will.

I agree, but this, within itself, disproves destiny ( using reason ).

Speaking of which, I enjoy a line along these lines from a song:

"Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever find her
The one that God's chosen for me
And what if I find her but she doesn't like me
I guess that disproves destiny"

^_^

If you make the right choices then the path God created for you will lead to your destiny. Bad choices are just detours and it's hard to get back on the right track but nothing is impossible when you trust God.

If she does'nt like you? Then make her like you. She will be worth the effort if you really think she is the one.

"You can't love others unless you learn to love yourself first"
I think its misleading and selfish. God commands us to love Him with all our heart, with all our mind and with all our soul and to love others as we love ourselves. He did not say love yourself more than others.
