Well, personally I HATE this little quote: "Life is like a box of chocolates: you never know what you're gonna get." Seriously, has anyone out there ever though about how stupid that quote is...?
It means that you have to make choices in life and you can never be sure if you're going to like the results..

Another quote that I really don't like is, "Let's just agree to disagree."

It's really just a copout to keep the person that's giving up from feeling like they've lost.

If you're playing a sport against someone can you just say to them, "Ok I give up, so you have to agree to give up too, k?" Of course not! Because giving up means you lose.

Oh I think it's a good one. My ex said that once when he tried to convince me that vegetarianism was bad and I got very zealous for the cows. Later I ate them, he won.

I always just thought that meant "I really don't care enough to argue about it anymore." :p

This one really annoys me. I know that Jesus cares about how we treat others, of course! We should treat them with love and care. But I really do believe that He wants us to learn His Word and perhaps memorize it too. The Word of God is our tool against the enemy in this world. Why not utilize it to the best of our abilities?
I think this quote is suggesting that we should just forget about the Bible altogether.

This might be off subject...but bear with me. So last week I was with my cousins and they were watching a show called "True Life" on MTV. The episode was about religion and how a gay guy really wanted to stop his homosexual lifestyle to please Jesus. He had just given his life to God. Anyways he was having a hard time with it and decided to visit a "different" church. In this church the Pastor told him that the Bible is the Word of God but that it's tainted and had a human fingerprint on it. So we shouldn't believe EVERYTHING in it!!!!

I was shocked and felt sick. I cannot believe any Pastor would say something like that! Of course he was just trying to get the guy to go to his church by accepting his homosexual lifestyle. At the end of the episode the young man goes back to his original church and decides to stop living a gay life, praise God for that! I hope and pray he can do it successfully.

Now, what I'm trying to say is that people may want God's love or be a Christian...but when you take the Bible away...is it still Christianity we're talking about? I know people nowadays need to treat others better, but a lot of Christians (myself included) need to read the Word more, too.

Morals and ethics change throughout time. Humans are not perfect and this is why we shouldn't rely on each other to set these standards. This is why we need the infallible Word of God.

Sorry I ranted a little too much...
I think it is just saying: "Don't be a Pharisee."

I can't stand "boys will be boys" especially when it is about bullying or illegal behavior

Be generous so God will bless you. Sounds like a bribe. If you are generous because you expect something in return you can't fool God for He looks at your heart. God loves a cheerful giver sounds better.

I mean, I get where he's coming from, but...

...there's usually a guide under the lid as to what they are...so... I guess no one ever told him, or he never noticed or got the memo from Apple...but um...tch.

"Well look, I know I'm right, and you know I'm wrong. You think you're right, while I think you're wrong... and this obviously just isn't going anywhere because neither of us are willing to back down or change our viewpoints, so let's just move on to something else because I'm done with this now."

That one just doesn't roll off the tongue as nicely as, "Well, let's just agree to disagree."

YOLO (you only live once) - used as an excuse to do stupid stuff. Plus we all know it's not true.

Yes, but... the description can't tell how it will actually taste, whether you'll like it or not. Just like in life, something looks like it would be a really good idea at first and you think you know all you need to know about it, but sometimes things end up being a disappointment...

One of my best friends got me that exact box of chocolates as a gift one year.

I ate every single last piece, and didn't share with anyone because she brought it to me at my house, and being my greedy self, I didn't want to take it into work and have it disappear in an hour.

I seriously think she was plotting to kill me.

Yes--death by chocolate.
