That is unserviceable.

So then all of the moderators on the teens forum have to be teenagers?

"Fair" isn't always possible.
This is just an exaggerated response to a view you disagree with. Blowing it out of proportion to lessen it in the eyes of others. There are teen mods already in existence for one thing. And even if not, its obvious mods would be able to go into a forum to perform mod actions. Its pretty obvious that would be the case.

But it makes no sense to say an unmarried 17 year old doesn't belong, but a married 18+ is allowed in a Singles area. OR that anyone over 19 can go into the Teens. Or that the YA forums have a specific age range applied and requirements for it. Otherwise you're just picking and choosing rules at random. Or to suit one persons opinion. It would be plain wrong.

I voted No, simply for one reason.
A free person shouldn't unnecessarily have restrictions placed upon them if they conduct themselves properly in accordance with the website rules and guidelines.
If any person does not, the Admin team can address it or Ban if needed.
This applies to all persons great and small male or female regardless of Age.
A person shouldn't have restrictions placed on them from something if they've done no wrong.

That being said, I also see the other side of the coin where a teens parent could very likely have concerns about their child visiting a single forum with adults, and/or seeking advice from other adults than their own parent. I would be concerned for my son if he were doing so and not telling me.

A parent should do their job of parenting and monitor what their children do and what websites they visit.
I noticed someone mentioned that a lot of teens date.
While this is unfortunate due not the possible repercussions... but the highly likely repercussions that result, at the same time a lot of parents AllOW their teens to date without providing proper guidelines.
So whats a teen to do?
Except be left to seek the advice of their other teen friends.
(that's not a better scenario).
If my son were searching forums without my knowledge as so many teens do, I would rather it be a Christian website with Christian advice offered, than youtube or google or whatever else.

Can we say, RUDE? I know you like to joke, but that's going too far. That's pretty much, no, THAT IS attempted ridicule.

Would you want someone to do that to you? Probably not.

Don't feel bad, Ugly, or anyone else who bought into it and were even proud of them for being so mature, because honestly, on the surface, they did seem nice, and they did seem like they were fairly legit.

There have been many fakes on here WAY before Alexis and Buckets. I can remember one that happened the first year and a half I was on here. They had everyone fooled for THE LONGEST time, till the mods started digging and realized, this isn't right.

That's kinda messed up. Singling out one of the MANY people who were totally hoodwinked at first by "alexis"...
I wrote about this more than five weeks ago--some of you thought I was joking.

Thank you for completely misrepresenting me, but the exact opposite is true and I "LIKE" Ugly's posts immediately when he singles me out.

The thing is, Alexis wasn't even around 5 weeks ago.

Have you considered trusting God and the Bible instead of trusting yourself?

It's amazing the things you can see when you're constantly seeking and proclaiming the blood of Jesus Christ.

Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

*sigh* Praus I totally respect you,but I guess the question I have for you is if you felt this or new this 5 weeks ago,how come you did not contact anyone in Admin or go to Robo instead of making what appears to be a semi-joke in a post about it?

On a side note...I think this is turning into a real pointless debate that is only dividing & offending people.

Robo should make a decision on this. We submit to it. End of debate.

I love lil_christian as though she were my little sister & I'd take a bullet for her...yes I will miss her posts in the singles forum, but it's not like I can't still be blessed by her in other forums or other threads. So can we all!

it's just sad to see that once again,as Christians (and I use that term loosely) we've allowed the devil place in our midst by our own idiocy.

Because I generally don't advertise in the forums when I contact the Admins nor what I write to them.

It's not idiocy, it's ego-validating worldliness, pure and simple--it's pervasive here on CC.

John 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things [that are] in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

I understand...and ty for answering the question.

I really don't think you know what you're talking about there. I do trust God. Granted I don't all the time, I struggle sometimes. But nonetheless, my hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness. If you knew what He has got me through, that thought wouldn't have even crossed your mind for even a nanosecond. And if you saw my thread in Teens Forum, you and I DEFINITELY wouldn't even be having this discussion.

I vote that there should be restrictions. I think it would be better to open up a new room for teens under 18 who want advice from their elders. :)

Ummm, just real quick. May I ask why it's set up like this? If the teens can't post in it, then why should they be able to see it? To me that's kind of like, "Look, but don't touch." when you have the option of, "Out of sight, out of mind."

Plus, it does kind of hurt to think that I'm just a year away from being 18, and before this issue came up, I was considered equals with the rest of everyone. The majority didn't really care I was 17, because I was always a good sport, and I have been raised by older parents who taught me that maturity is extremely important. Unfortunately, this means I don't always relate with teenagers my age.

I truly did find a spot on CC where I enjoyed myself. I've tried out the Miscellaneous forum, and it's just not the same. One of the first thread titles was titled "Sex" and the Teens Forum is full of "Homosexuality/Masturbation/other stuff that pushes the envelope....is it okay?"

I also have done my time in Bible Discussion....wowza. Never again.....never again. o_O

I think if this is voted yes, I might just either take a year off or leave, because I've tried other things, and it hasn't worked. I will miss you all, and I hope and pray God continues to work in each and every one of you. :)
lil_christian:

The real issue here is not actually your age in particular - it is the subject matter in the Single Forums with regard to your age. ( From a 'legal' and 'moral' perspective. )

"All hope is not lost, honey --- hang in there..." :D

~

One of the things I have been trying to get across to others on here is that - other forums don't have to be as "uninteresting" as they have been in the past. They can be made to be just as "lively" as the Singles Forum is considered to be now. And, it is 100% within the power and ability of the membership to do -- 'at will'. ( "Don't even need RoboOp's help to do it, either..." ;) ) The question is, how bad do we want it?

Well then it should be said if the subject matter is not proper for someone her age, then the subject matter should not be posted anyway.
But its moot, since it seems most of the gay threads and masterbation threads posted around here are posted by those under 18. in which makes the whole "singles forum is impropper for those under 18" really a moot point, and gets me thinking this whole thing was just drugged up cause some 40 year old troll got hurt cause he got shown up by what he thought was a 14 year old.

If we were going by topics and subject matter, Teens Forum should have become 18+ forum LONG ago with all the craziness in it.

i rarely post in this forum...though i read a lot more than i post...

i voted 'no'...because honestly i can't see the point...

from what i have seen...the stuff in the singles forum is -tame- compared to some of the stuff that is posted in the bible discussion forum and sometimes spoken about in the chat rooms...
and from what i have seen the singles forum tends to have more godly counsel for people with questions as well...
finally if there are any perverts or fakers that show up...they are going to do what they do whether the teens are allowed to post in the singles forum or not...

i just don't see how keeping teens out of the singles forum would accomplish any of the stated goals of protecting them...
