Maybe I don't know the difference between "wedding jewelry" and other jewelry. A big diamond ring isn't necessarily a wedding or engagement ring.

I would wear it on a finger other than my left ring. Mostly because I feel that's for engagement/wedding rings, but all other fingers are free for jewelry. It seems that everything has multiple meanings these days, and as long as you are following what you believe in and consider what popular culture thinks. I think you would be fine.

In other words, pretty shinnies are nice every now and then

That's quite a lot of money to drop on a pair of earrings. I could feed my family for 2 months on the price of the cross earrings.

I think you should wear whatever kind of jewelry makes you happy.

However, if you're wearing a wedding ring to keep the creepers away, that's a problem.
The creepers will see the ring and just hit on you anyway,
and the really nice guys you want to meet... they'll run away.

Nothing ever works the way you expect.

Yes, it is quite costly, but I have shared my personal opinion on the wedding jewelry. Because many of my friends are wearing this in wedding function.
