I thought it was just mums that say
'you always' or 'you never' and pull rank cos they have known you from birth
I didnt know wives did that to their husbands
Honestly I would think it would be all of humanity. When that absolute language is used at least in my experience, the person using it is not at all happy and they want something to change because they feel they have been put out. So I just like to clown around and make folks laugh. So will make comments geared towards gals or guys or people in general. Just using that humor where one, on the other side can read and say oh I have been there and laugh at a circumstance in their own life.

In my response to Lynx, I was making fun of my lack of wisdom and like my screen name says I am still learning. Had I been following the Lord back then one thing I would have realized is a soft answer turns away wrath. Husbands deal with your wives according to wisdom and give her the honor she is due. I would have understood I had no communication skills. As the fact was something I was doing was really heavy upon her heart so she wanted to talk about it.

However, because we are all wise in our own eyes I acted in accordance of my own wisdom. So there is no doubt I use hyperbole just cause it makes stuff funnier. So in all of my jokes is a bit of me injected and is me making fun of myself so others who can relate can laugh at themselves as well. Cause sometimes as people we know everything about everything and nothing about nothing. So in honesty I don't think using absolutes is gender specific or even unique to a wife or mom. Think we all have used them at some point cause we were just that upset and wanting to get that message across.

I just work on assumption everyone is a bit thick/dense so that when they are clever its a delightful surprise.

In my job its all about teachable moments cos not everything is learned in a classroom

I've seen posts from you of 3 layer cakes with "Find The Toenail" in the icing, I've seen a dead armadillo on the side of the road with a "Get Well Soon" balloon tied to its foot, but kudos for this which might just top them all!
I aspire to outdo myself always :)

That is cool that you take time to do so :) Sure you have a lot to give, cause I have seen some of the different books you have read and the veracious reader you are. You have great retention and recall when referencing something you have read. So is cool that you want to take the scholarly that you are make it practical and applicable and pass it on :)

You eat your soup straight out the pan you warmed it in ... no point making anymore washing-up 🙂😁

When you are single you don't get your back or your stomach or chest assaulted by feet cubes. Have no clue if guys do this. In marriage and gals I have dated they have all had one thing in common they hate wearing shoes or socks unless outside in public. They just wanna go barefoot.

So never failed I would be on the couch and suddenly jump because there was a two blocks of ice disguised as feet suddenly inside my shirt on my back or stomach or chest. So being single you don't have to worry about feet cubes.......LOL

Signs that I'm single:

The other side of the bed is cold.

I find the keys... and the remote... where I left them.

I recognize every purchase on the credit card statement.

The gas tank is full.

I have to make my own sandwich.
This is perfect, for this is pretty much my life too.

Everything is precisely where I left it (though sometimes I think they move on their own), I sleep on a futon couch, wear the same clothes two days in a row, the TV is on almost all the time so that I hear a human voice in the house, I chat online (something that would become non-existent in a marriage), and people just assume I have a social life.

AMEN!

I often scramble some eggs for breakfast, with maybe some corned beef or lobster or something in it, and eat it right out of the pan.

It's just me and there's no sense getting another bowl dirty when the pan is already holding the food perfectly well.
