Although I do recall one party where we had to wear our school uniforms.
I Seriously question when you say you are not that much of a nerd!! Honestly you are a librarian! You are the ultimate in nerdiness but I do say cute and sexy nerdiness.

Teachers seem to wear denim jackets over black leggings and white sneakers. They might wear a t shirt with writing that says Im with stupid or something along those lines just to check students are reading. On duty they wear florescent vests with their names on the back.

Librarians wear whatever we like. Sometimes we dress like Wheres wally or Wenda. Stripes are good and they help with reading between the lines.

Most of us wear glasses as we have x ray vision. I have a collection of cardigans

That sounds cute! Seriously teachers would wear goofy shirts?!? For Librarians is it where’s wenda or Wanda? I think black and white stripes are hot on a librarian! :) I like the glasses but am scared of your x-ray vision as I am not sure I am comfortable with what you could see!

The male teachers would either wear crocs, or sports jackets and shorts. The female teachers wore dresses sometimes, with flowers on them.

Most school uniforms do not have flower prints on them

er ...why.

what has that got to do with the topic?

Anyway.

Still not sure about the whole single sex school thing. I think it stems from catholicism monk and nun training back in the dark ages,. Though all modern non denominational christian schools that have been established in the 21st century are now co-ed.

Though at universities, an undergraduate degree is still called a Bachelors, though women can study for them, they dont get called Bachelorettes or Spinsters. I think if you stay focused on your studies, the whole marriage thing is unimportant before you graduate anyway. Unless you decide to marry so you can qualify for a student allowance, which was what some desperate students actually have done.

It was more for the benefit of the teachers (who were nuns and monks) than the students perhaps.
You could argue well Jesus only trained twelve disciples and they were all male.

But others joined who were female (Mary, Martha etc) so that argument doesnt hold up

Am thinking secondary single sex education was originally a catholic thing because of the nuns and monks and also back in the day not many went on to high school at all, most ended their schooling at 13 and went to work. Or got married.

I guess that solves that mystery. I dont think there are that many catholic co-ed high schools. But then catholic schools are notorious for their same sex abuse. which they covered up. So Rotten.

am going for an interview at a single sex school next week

or same sex school. Its all girls. I wonder if all the staff are women too. Im a bit wary. Or it might be fine. I dont know. Its a very exclusive school and the annual fees are eye watering. It costs to even enrol.

Its not catholic, its anglican.

seems like for girls schools anyway the rationale is they are better equipped to study STEM subjects at all girls schools without boys competitons

But thing is I never noticed this, when I was in high school in my class girls outnumbered boys and we were far ahead intellectually and developmentally that we never felt put down by the boys. The only advantage boys seemed to have over girls was on the sportsfield in some areas.

in coe ed middle/intermediate, BOTh boys and girls did woodwork and metalwork, and cooking and sewing!
And these days, all the boys want to be master chefs!

The other thing I notice that in co ed schools, boys learns to be more respectful of girls. Because they see them everyday. At least, I never had a problem with boys at co-ed school. Its not like they would stare at me cos theyd never seen a girl before.

on further investigation I think girls that go to all girls schools have better sports facilities. So if you are female athlete or want to train in any sport, and be the top in your field. A girls school might be better for you.

As for me I hated sports in school and in general so it would have been a waste for me. lol. The whole competitive thing I was never into. If I were to play any sport it would just be for fun.

well the job has been readvertised looking for someone with experience with teen girls. I was thinking what exactly would they be looking for. ?!

Though they would police vet everyone, Im just thinking they would need to be extra careful with employing any male staff in an all girls high school.
