I don't care... I alredy bought my ticket... and I'm alredy planning on a Star Wars Marathon to watch all the movies before the new one comes out!!!

Funny thing, when I was a kid, we were forced to watch the animated version of The Hobbit in school, and Gollum absolutely terrified me. I was SURE he was going to devour that poor little hobbit in one gulp.
The first time I saw Yoda onscreen as a kid, I about jumped, because Yoda reminded me of Gollum and I found him to be pretty terrifying too. I was SURE he was going to turn on Luke at any minute and boil him up as a stew in his cozy little mud hut.
Now I can say that Yoda giving everyone a Lightsaber Smackdown were the only good parts of Episodes 1-3.
It's really a shame that a bunch of us CC/Star Wars fans can't get together and storm(troop) a theater together when this comes out!

Well I just watched that particular trailer just now. Like the others I'd seen it looks like it might be an okay movie by itself, but it just don't look like Star Wars. I expect lots of CGI glitz. Disney will exploit Star Wars to the max it seems to me. Makes sense though seeing as they spent $4 billions of dollars just for the franchise. I think even if the movies bomb they'll be able to make a bit off the games and swag from just owning rights to the original 3, and even episodes 1-3.
Will Disney meet the standards of the longtime George Lucas fans and be able to retain one of nerd world's most loyal and lucrative fanbases? Looks like it's still a question up in the air from the trailer to me. Could easily see it going either way.

I'm a total prequel denier. "Oh...you mean that terrible dream George Lucas had after a bad meal one night." Yeah...that's my view of the prequel.
A year or so before Return of the Jedi was being released, they re-released Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back in the theaters. I was in sixth grade and went to see the film with my siblings. It was the first film I ever went to where people clapped at the end of it.

I remember watching an interview with George Lucas about the yoda battle. He told the CGI people that they can play around with it a little if they want, but that millions of people have been waiting to see him fight for over 18 years and no matter what they produced it had to be "Not Funny". Fun fact: Yoda also flirted with the darkside himself. It is cannon but it is revealed in the novel series between episode two and three. This is why he was able to control force lightning, he was already familiar with it.
Other random nerd facts......the reason there are always only two sith is because way way back in the day in starwars universe terms.....the sith had an order as big as the Jedi. Jedi vs Sith wars on large scales were common. As Sith fight dirty, anytime one sith would outshine the rest in terms of talent and skill, the weaker ones would team up and kill him. This happened over and over throughout a period of about two to three centuries to where Sith were perpetually diluting their own strength. Finally one really strong guy (Darth Bane specifically) created the rule of two. He basically engineered the destruction of all the other sith until he was the only one left.
He decided that there should only be one to embody all the power, and one other to crave it. If the apprentice managed to surpass the master, then the apprentice should kill him for his weakness and take his own apprentice at some point after that to make sure the power of the dark side and legacy of the Sith is perpetuated. Hologram cubes that can only be unlocked with the dark side of the force are made as well and hidden/scattered around the galaxy incase all apprentices fall short and their purpose is to just trust the force to bring them to whoever the force wills.
In the book for Episode 3.....the biggest reason Anakin was sent to the Jedi Temple was to recover holocron cubes that the Jedi had confiscated and had under guard. Slaughtering everyone present was not the main objective of that mission.

I've seen the trailer before I saw your thread so I watched it again. My feelings are mixed. But I think it's more personal rather than it being the actual movie. I expect the same feel and tone from the originals, and I even dare say that Ep 1-3 even hold that tone and feel (not entirely Ep 1) but I think my expectations perhaps may be unrealistic and need to give it some slack.
My main hope is the pace of the film. Star Wars, i think, isn't quick neither is it slow so I'm hoping that this installment won't be constant wizz bang. Listening to JJ, he really does understand Star Wars, so I'm hoping he follows through with that. Needless to say, definitely be seeing Gold Class

Understanding Star Wars was easy... I saw the trailer as a kid and knew right away that I wanted to marry Luke Skywalker. Nothing more to understand.
I was explaining this to a co-worker today who had showed me his ticket--that falling in love with a new set of Star Wars movies is harder for me now because, obviously, there's no one in the movie who could be a potential husband. (My co-worker suggested Rylo Ken.)
In order to find a husband, I may just have to turn to the Dark Side.
