Clearly, those are DVD box-sets. They even include the 'DVD' tag at the bottom right of the packaging. ;)
The Silmarillion though, that's not an easy read, but there are some great stories in there (I still haven't finished it).
Tolkien's writing is both amazing and difficult, because of the amount of detail he goes into. I haven't started this book yet, I've been a little nervous to. But I know it will be worth it.

Glad to see you here tonight, Tintin... though it's tomorrow afternoon for you. :)
Australia- a continent of hipsters, experiencing tomorrow before it's the "in" thing to do...

...I don't know either.

You wouldn't lose that one on the horizon!
Isn't it beautiful? I loved seeing my dad come in on that with one of my sisters. It was really HIS toy, but we got to learn to sail a bit on it.

It really is! I know nothing of sailing, but I appreciate beauty. :)

You Tolkien to me? Haha! I'm definitely not a hipster. But I am an Aussie. I'm mildly dyslexic, so I found The Silmarillion to be a real struggle. Like I said, I haven't read the whole thing even now (just too many books to read). I read about half and there are some excellent stories in there.

Sometimes keeping the peace is the opposite of helpful. Sometimes correction is needed, sometimes tables need overturned. I used to think that it was important to avoid conflict at all costs, and that shutting down a disagreement before it turned into a fight was my Christian duty. But sometimes, change is a good thing, and sometimes change requires someone who is willing to argue. Someone who is willing to upset the "peace".

Peace is not, after all, the ultimate goal. Complacency creeps in when things are too peaceful. People become unwilling to stand against things that are clearly not ok just to preserve their quiet, comfortable little bubble.

The goal is to become more and more like Christ, and I can't speak for anyone else, but for me that means a lot of growth, and a lot of change. If I am more concerned with surrounding myself with peace and comfort, then I am also shutting out opportunities to grow, to learn, and to exercise my faith. Conflict is uncomfortable. But without it, what would I have learned?

I don't mean to say that peace is without merit...but I can more easily see the beauty in the quiet that follows a storm than I can in a month of consistently quiet days.

Hmmm...I hadn't thought about peace in that way. And in reality by trying to stay in that comfortable bubble, we end up stressed and anxious with no peace at all.

Good word, MissCris!

Could be worse. One of my coworkers is allergic to...

You might want to sit down for this...

CHOCOLATE! Serious, if he eats one bit of chocolate he's sick for hours. I can't even comprehend... I'd die.

You might wanna sit down for this, but..... I don't really like chocolate... I can't remember the last time I ate chocolate... :)

But I had shrimp yesterday... and I would be a very sad version of myself if I were to be denied shrimps!!!

Even worse... if I were to be denied PICANHA!!! O.O

I have no idea how to say that in English, but it's THIS!!!

I have no idea what happened, but somehow, something lemony got into my coffee. It's...it's like...like drinking orange juice right after you've brushed your teeth.

I hate it, I hate it, I hate it!

How was everyone's Labor Day?

I read the Bible and then studied for my Music Theory class. It's just an elective that I had to take in the arts. But I'm loving it so far!
Went to the lake with friends where we tubed and went swimming. Then, of course, had delicious food.

What do you cover in Music Theory?

Had to Google "tubing" to know what you were talking about... hehehehe

That looks so much fun!!! :D

I'm trying to learn wakeboarding... but it's hard... I wanna try tubing next... :D

Right now we are learning the basic terminology like the different types of notes, melody, harmony etc. That was what the test was for. I think I did well! :D
Basically the class is about how music is made. I've only done three years of junior high clarinet (quit band in 9th grade), so I'm excited to learn more about music.
I wish I could go tubing, that sounds so much fun!

Oh, it's a blast. I typically tube and kayak during summers. Also, cliff jumping, but wasn't able to do that this year :/

What got you interested in wakeboarding? Never done it!
