The light here is really strange. It's gone from yellow, to green, to bright white in the last hour. I know there is a gorse and brush fire about 4 miles north of me, but goodness! The way it's affecting the sky-light and the outdoors is weird.
I've never heard of a plant that caused so much disaster. That gorse must be the devil's plant.

It's invasive, oily, has 2" thorns EVERYWHERE, most people are allergic and when it sets fire it burns like crazy. I'm watching reports on the fire now. Gorse has been the source of two fires that have burnt the town down twice.

It sure sounds like an evil plant to me. Even the name scares me.

Will say this though? When it blooms, the blooms are bright yellow and smell of coconut. It's also an edible flower, and makes an interesting syrup. So... there are nice things about it.

Hey Melita,

I was just curious, do you like to read and are you able to do so on the treadmill?

I myself have discovered the magic of a stationery bike on my "less intense" days. I just plop myself down with a book (or 3), and before I know it, my half hour or whatever is up. It's made the whole process much more bearable. Just thought maybe it might work for you?

I admit I can't do any "heavy reading" while on a treadmill... For that, I bring a book with lots of pictures (home decorating, art, fashion) and fewer paragraphs. How about a book of your favorite comic strip? :)
I can't read and treadmill at the same time lol. Fortunately, I just do 30 mins, and time seems to go by quickly as I jam to Pandora. I also talk with Jesus. Or I get lost in daydreams lol

If I know that there is a reason for a specific situation, why can't I just be happy with that? Why do I feel like I have to know what the reason is? God knows, isn't that good enough?

Shuddup, brain. Just stop.

It's been blustery all day in southern Saskatchewan, so I've been hibernating (reading, sipping tea, the slow-cooker giving off supper aromas, gas fireplace on). Well, I decided to get out and go for a walk as the sun was shining in from the west. I got about halfway around my usual route and it started raining, so I took a shortcut home, and almost missed the most incredible rainbow against the storm-darkened eastern sky.

I think there's a sermon in that.... :)

Now I am looking for a good cookie recipe to make cheesecake cookie sandwiches, kinda like ice-cream sandwiches. Maybe a ginger snap with a spiced wine cranberry cheesecake. Hmmm....
Recommend looking for a "whoopie pie" recipe. (Boys, stop snickering. There really is such a thing.) Adapt it for cheesecake.
