I was offered the finger of choice by irrate individuals by a very sweet looking Grandma in a wal mart parking lot and Im still bothered by it. I was attempting to leave the parking lot via the main road..not an isle row. This woman was walking down the middle of said road and I waited patiently as she passed up 2 isles so I had no idea where she was headed and assumed she didnt realize she was in the middle of the road. I tooted very lightly on my horn to let her know I needed to pass and as she turned around to see me I even waved with a smile. You know the "excuse me smile wave I need to pass" wave. She followed my wave with her gesture of disapproval and stated yelling something. So I turned down another isle to just get away. Just miffed and upset because my son was in the car and started laughing at the "funky grandma"

I never have good experiences at wal mart.
Sorry you had a bad experience.

Here is a song to cheer you up. It's an oldie, but a classic...

I gave my mom all the quilt squares I had meant to make a quilt with when I was 18, and she returned them to me like this today...

It's throw size, and it's awesome, and I love it.

She also brought us a bunch of plums from the tree in her yard that I used to pick them from. In fact, there's a picture of that around here somewheres...

Stick with Aldi and Fred's. I never see anybody like that at Aldi or Fred's. If you can't find what you need there, get it online.

so what had happened was...

i leave my house at 1:30 pm to head back to work. i'm driving along when i feel a thud, but nothing was on the street to make the thud. hmm. i keep driving along, and then i feel my steering wheel is not as flexible as it should be. dun dun duuuuuuun! making turns then becomes a work out :(

i managed to get to a gas station. i called my boss to let him know i'm gonna be running late. i then call my neighbor aka my brother to ask him if he can give me a ride to work. dropped off the car at the house, and now i'm at my desk. ooy!

and this morning, my dad's car wouldn't start. i tell ya. the devil be busy!!!! lol

Is that you wearing a bowl as a hat?? I smell a meme! :D "Here is a photo of a girl picking plums wearing a bowl. Your argument is irrelevant."

===

I didn't sleep very well while in Maui, save maybe one or two nights. Came home and slept a bit too much over the weekend. Started work and haven't slept enough for the past two nights. My body must be plotting to overthrow me any minute now, and almost succeeded had I not been treated to the symphony of car alarms and coworkers slurping and munching their meals.

But a bowl for a hat... :p

Wait, Cristen... What are you wearing on your head in that picture!! It looks like a mixing bowl or colander without the drainage holes... :D

Mel... Glad you made it to work safely! Sorry about your family's car troubles!! :( Car problems are the worst. GRRR.

I'm in an odd melancholia. I think it's the autumn blues.
I totally get you, Olerica.

I am always more reflective and retrospective in the fall, even when I've lived in sunny places that don't change seasons.

Maybe it's something in the pumpkin lattes...

I win, I win!!!! Score one for me!!!

I'm envisioning the start of a new thread: "What The Hee Haw Is On My Head???!!"

You know, like people could post pictures of themselves from their childhood (when we ALL put crazy things on our heads) and we have to guess what it is...

Then again... I think it's just been a long day.

I tend to get the same way...but I never realized that's what it was until last summer. So last fall my husband bought me a fancy light (it's not actually fancy) that I sit by in the morning for about half an hour when the days start getting shorter. The sunlight hours, I mean. We replaced all the light bulbs in the house with day lights, too...all of this is supposed to simulate sunshine and help with the seasonal blues. It seems to work, along with taking vitamins and making sure I get exercise and stuff.

Not that I'm like, trying to tell you ladies what to do. Just...throwing that out there...yeah.

Melita, I can't tell you how many times I've eaten snacks while ON an exercise machine.

As I always say... that's why it's called dinner... on the run! ;)

And, as is typical of me, I've had about 3 good weeks... and now... Must. Overcome. The Slump.
