There's a fine line between being manipulative and being assertive. :)
That is true, I know I'm naturally assertive, and my husband isn't. Maybe it's just that he changes his mind so easily that it catches me off guard, and makes me feel like I pushed too hard. I know for a fact, all I did was come up with good reasons why we should move to Wyoming, and then one night he just up and said we'll move when my current job is finished.
I'm flabbergasted... Pleased, but flabbergasted.
I asked him if he felt like I was the reason he decided that, or if he felt like I pushed him into making that decision, and he started a long lecture on how he just changes his mind easily, my reasons were perfectly valid, and he wanted to move anyway.

Tight clothing leads to chafing. Chafing leads to anger. And remember, anger leads to the Dark Side.

So...after the fiasco about my husband's on-call weeks and his employer wanting to charge him a stupid amount of money to stay at the employee call house, he and his head-of-department decided to try to get the on-call response time changed from 15 minutes up to 30. So they started taking a look at all the paperwork for their department, and it turns out, his department doesn't even HAVE a specified response time. They've just been going with what the other departments do.

Which means that basically, he's been staying in town one week a month for the last two years for no real reason, but more importantly, he doesn't have to do that anymore. YAY!!!

In other news...I settled on doing five hundred loads of laundry today, and also finding a new place to set up my easel, since I moved, broke, and threw away the table I used to use.

The moral of this story is, if you are the boss read the documentation before you try to charge employees for something.

I'm kinda wondering if they should repay him for the investment. If it wasn't required, and they told him it was.... IDK.

not bad. Summer is over here and autumn is beginning. Business is good. God is VERY good. How are you?
I'm doing so much better now! It's spring here, the sun has finally come out this Friday morning but that makes me a little bit sad because I love rainy days. I'm glad business is doing good! I can only cook toast so when I hear someone can cook or even has a business of their own where they cook, I get ridiculously excited because it's something I can appreciate since I don't have the skills. I hope things will only continue to look up for you, Olerica!

And you, Sweets! I hope things continue to improve. I know that I, and I am sure others, have missed your presence.

I've missed you guys, too. Life just got busy, then a lot of time went by, and I wondered if I would come back. Then one random day, I just really, really wanted to come back and post and share with the world of CC. So here I am, bells, whistles and all! Thanks for the warm welcome, by the way. I'm feeling all the warm fuzzies.

I'm an instrumental musician primarily...which makes it odd that I am preparing for a vocal audition.

I'm doing a Tom Waits song...but won't be singing it in his style because I would need about 30 years of whiskey drinking and smoking to sound like him...

... on second thought, maybe I better get crackin' with that!

There she went! The goat lady! With two goats sitting in the back seat of her van!

Some days, I'm like "This town is nuts and I don't belong here", other days it's more..."These are my people".

As a music nut, singer and soundtrack-maker I demand the right and ability to like this more than once!

I just stepped out of Walmart where the cashier not only asked how i was but also asked if everything was ok. I thought she was being nice but after I told her that I wasn't the person she should ask because my father is very ill she just said 'oh' and have a nice day. Wat?!! Why do I keep shopping here!!!

Oh and I wasn't visibly upset or anything either so I have no idea why she asked me that.
