So I got the news that I was not accepted for church offering singer, which I auditioned for last week. In my attempt to feel better, I went for a roller coaster ride.

Now I feel so light... headed.

I'm sorry you were passed up on that Abi. Sometimes, God doesn't give us the things we want because He knows the things we truly desire, desires that we may not even be aware of because we do not truly know ourselves. We cannot truly know ourselves unless we really choose to, and we cannot discover our true desires unless we let go of the things we think we want, things borne not out of love, but out of fear, anger or other things other than what our inner heart is yearning for. Had God immediately given us our requests, our joy wouldn't have had a chance to complete because we would have settled for the "second best." But God allows us instead, these momentary frustrations so that we can discover little by little what it is we truly desire. May God richly give you your true desires sister!

Thank you Dan. Yeah I wasn't surprised anymore. My prayer was if it was His will, even if I wasn't qualified, He'd make a way. If it wasn't, even if I was overqualified, He'd intervene. It can still make ya feel down though, when it actually happens. Pfft human hearts. But feelings pass :) I appreciate your wisdom, as always.

Auditioned?
My, life is simple with small churches where they have noone and are thankful if someone wants to do something.
In one of my first churches I played guitar with another woman. We both couldn't play, only the simple chords. The pastor would sometimes get another song on his heart than our list of simple songs and he'd start singing and we yelled: No!! No!! We don't know that chord!!

CC stands for cool cids...right? ;)

BTW has anyone seen "My 600 Pound Life" on TLC? Wow! I'm watching it right now with my mom and we are shocked. Those poor people are extremely overweight and sick. I really feel for them. :(
What's a cid? you mean kid right? ;) sorry spell-check mood today :)

Haha! That is so familiar. And like, no one cared if the key was too high or too low right? Heck no one even cared if you'd just stop playing and lift your hands up lol. I used to do the same, played guitar when the only chords I knew were C G and D! People transition, I'd be glad if God leads me to another church, but until then, I'll just keep on keeping on lol.

Yea, even payphones are getting rarer to see, most of them you see in airports/really big cities but the number has really gone down quite a bit....

Later I went to a bigger church. No you can't sing. They have far more professional voices. You go sing in the bathroom.

I made some huge flags and swept them in front of everyone's face while laying the sheets on the projector, I'm afraid they could hardly read the words of the songs, but I had a great time.

To say the least. I haven't been using a payphone for at least 15 years and I think that goes for most people lol.

Amen, thank you Tink. I cheered myself up literally. And I might have left my head up there somewhere.

Roller coasters are really cool if fear of heights never existed!
Great! Im not afraid of heights. But I have motion sickness so rollercoasters are not my favorite.

Might be getting a summer job at a care home for people with dementia

if I do, please pray that God will be with me, as I suspect it will take more than the average amount of patience and love :)

It will. My grandma had Alzheimer/Dementia in her final years, and that was very hard on my mama. My grandma was originally from Sweden, and she lost her English language and was only speaking Swedish untill she lost her language totally, and that added to the burden because nobody could understand what she was saying. But she was very happy, and was always smiling, I think she was reliving her childhood:)
