My uncle asked me today why I always looks sad all the time and never say anything and flatly told me that I should make an effort to look more friendly and smile.

Then he informed me that one of my teachers asked him at church what's wrong with me.

Then someone else asked me if I was okay. (By that time? No, not really...)

Then my aunt asked me what was wrong and tried to make me talk. But I didn't really feel like talking.

I don't think I started the day out sad or stressed, but when people tell you you're a sorry sight all day, you sure end up feeling that way.

I actually skipped going to a school/church social event tonight over it.
I want a long, quiet car ride.
I want to go home, now.
Ugh, it is always extremely frustrating when people do that.. I WAS fine... but since everyone keeps asking if I'm okay... no I'm NOT okay..

I have people make comments like that all of the time. It is never constructive, and it can chip and nag at my attitude, and make it hard to stay positive. :\ I just need to remember, they don't define me. Our identity is to be found in Christ.

Don't let them define you, You are fearfully and wonderfully A daughter of the King. :]

At least you have folks who care about how you're doing. When I'm not ok, nobody ever cares (except my CC friends).
The issue, is that if they really cared, they might realize that those types of comments while they might have good intention are not actually that caring, and can be hurtful.

"Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

I've seen The Notebook. I own The Notebook. It's not great cinema or anything, but I enjoyed it for what it was. Oh, dear. ;)
Interesting... Is it really thaaaat good?

I kinda have The Notebook and Titanic on my top 2 movies to see when the right time comes lol! That time hasn't come and I'm content with Sherlock and super hero movies.

YUS! I've always wanted to watch Schindler's List with someone. I don't have kittens though. I can bring a tub of ice cream! And pizza, Mels will come with us. And Gabe.
YUS!
Ooooh that sounds like the best party ever!! :D For the movie, I'd bring eitherrrr.... The Notebook or Ghost. Schindler's List is sad, but kind of traumatic too. There's also Titanic...

But if you want a pick-me-up movie... Zoolander, Meet the Parents, can't think of any others right now.
Woot! : D Full-blown pity party!
The "correct" answer is something like: "I'm an introvert. This is my neutral face and only means I'm not currently experiencing strong emotion. Nothing is wrong I just want to be alone and not interact with people right now. Bye."

If that doesn't work you may be able to just give them that kind of blank, lost, "are you crazy? Where did that idea come from?" look when they ask questions at the wrong time.

But I'm all in favor of being home alone and sleeping in on Saturday.
*sigh* I wish it was that simple... Technically I'm an extrovert, I just need lots of alone time... and the person who gave me the hardest time about it today... He's so extremely extroverted that I'm pretty sure the idea of "introvert" is literally totally and completely incomprehensible to him and cannot be explained in a way that he would either grasp or respect.
True, we'd want something funny. I've never seen Titanic or The Notebook... or Ghost.

How about an LOTR marathon? No?

Mean Girls? Freaky Friday? 13 going 30? Just Like Heaven? xD
LOL I thought of suggesting some of those, but there are a lot of depressing movies out there, so I opted to leave it wide open for that reason xD

I'd love to see Schindler's List. I've actually never seen it and I've heard tons of good stuff about it.

I am grateful that they care (well... I'm grateful for those that do actually care. I live in one of 'those' small towns at the moment and I have every reason to suspect that some asked about my well-being primarily for gossip-related reasons). Just kind of a rough day and I'm a little frayed around the edges.

I guess I'm probably having a a pity party.

If I am, you're invited!

Feel free to bring chocolate, pizza, depressing movie of your choice, and a kitten!

I will bring pie to the party.

AGAIN. How are we bringing snacks to a virtual movie night?

If you know on how to do this, please let me know. I must know the secret.

Oh, no. It's pretty average, really. But I shed a few tears. Rachel McAdams is lovely and I can see why girls like Ryan Gosling (if I was a girl, I would too). It's one of those so bad it's good things for me. The Titanic is also pretty terrible, save for the actual sinking of the Titanic. That action scene is excellent.
