Well that was about 30 minutes I won't get back! I can't tell you how many times I've written something and then deleted it. Bottom line is, did you ever get the feeling that we had all these people praying and pleading, and hoping, and being supportive and praying some more and then the storm goes through anyway and wipes out everything and kills ten thousand people and levels the Phillipines and - what? NONE of us got an answered prayer? NOBODY?

Did you ever just get sick of the "God does everything for a reason" deal? Does it fix anything? Does any of that build it all back with whatever is left over? Reading all these threads and prayer, demons and the devil do all these different evil things! They stay pretty busy. But God is quiet! He does things in His own time. In the meanwhile the cancer still happens and the loved one dies or the storm doesn't veer off course or you don't get married or you don't get the job unless of course you catch a break because you studied hard and graduated and achieved certification and you got the job - and then God was with you because you prayed about it?. Or you put your self out there with different kinds of activities in different churches or chat groups or whatever and through a bunch of trial and error finally met a person you really loved and then said to yourself that God matched you up?

Did you ever think maybe we're praying the wrong way or for the wrong things? That's we're not understanding the bigger picture? I'm not questioning what I believe as much as HOW I believe it. The Lord's prayer was the prayer Christ recommended which speaks to the praise of God and to help with self conduct and forgiving others but says nothing of changing the course of the predictable life. Are we praying for the right things? If we are then, when's God going to pony up? If we're not (and this is what I suspsect) then how should we conduct our faith?

I thought about deleting this but what the heck. I don't speak to that many people of these matters except in this kind of annoymous fashion we apparently employ. Not counting you people it would be...let's see.....1, 2.....none altogether.

I try to never question God, make is a cardinal rule, but, sometimes, it happens. We are all human, things will happen to us, like Peter, that will make us go against what every fiber of our being does not want to do. For those not sure of what Peter said, Jesus said that Peter would deny that he was with Jesus as Jesus was being taken in to be judged, scorned, and, whipped, probably, Peter did what we all would do, right? If Peter associated himself with knowing Jesus, Peter thought he would be judged, flogged, scorned, whipped, and, don't forget, killed, 'crucified' on a cross.

I'm praying for those in the Phillipines. I KNOW, God's bigger than ANY storm in our life.
[video=youtube;MUWbmtbzDno]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUWbmtbzDno[/video]

Never quit praising Him during this storm, Phillipines' Christians, continue to rely on Him, count on Him to get you through, never leaving you or forsaking you, realizing, that this life is 'meaningless' in the big scheme of things, just as Solomon says in Ecclesiastes, 'Meaningless! Meaningless!" I think, are Solomon's exact words, this life we live is dust in the wind, live it for Him, and, when He calls on you greatly, then, GO and do His will, riding out the storm, even jumping in the water, or, being tossed off the ship, if He so requires.......................................... ............................., He (or a whale, great fish) will swallow you up, protect you, show you His great way to go from there, maybe, even, to a place like Ninevah, or, to a place that is Tacloban .

-------------------------------
Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. 13Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. 14And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 15Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. 16Rejoice always, 17pray continually, 18give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

19Do not quench the Spirit. 20Do not treat prophecies with contempt 21but test them all; hold on to what is good, 22reject every kind of evil.

23May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.

I've had the same thoughts. You're being honest. :) I'm so tired I don't know what else to say. God Bless

I HATE my brain..... :(

Normally I feel no effect from coffee whatsoever (or if I do, it makes me sleepy)

Today I made caffe latte with strong espresso at six in the evening, and I am still hyper at midnight.... How on earth will I survive work tomorrow? :p

Even though I don't feel good, I might see if my sis wants to watch NCIS: Los Angeles with me. :)

What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. Ecclesiates 1:9

In the Old Testament, when something horrible happened, it was usually to get someone's (or a whole lotta someones') attention for a reason, usually to turn them to Him. Just throwing that out there.

JOB 1:[SUP]20 [/SUP]At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship [SUP]21 [/SUP]and said:
“Naked I came from my mother’s womb,
and naked I will depart.

The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away;
may the name of the Lord be praised.”

[SUP]22 [/SUP]In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.

JOB 13:15 Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him; ...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
No answers to our prayers? Was/is there something we should be doing/not doing? Is there something we need to learn?
Shall we accept the blessings of God only? Do we look at Him as a genie in a bottle rather than Almighty God of all creation?
You are right, my friend. There is indeed a much larger picture. The more mountains we climb, the more we can see of it.
Thank YOU, Kenthomas, for your honesty. :) It was bold of you, but I think in a good way. Sometimes we need to just get that out. And sometimes we need to tell God those things too. Tell Him, "I don't get what's going on up there." but even when we don't get it, the conclusion is to trust Him that HE knows. God is. Sometimes, well, a lot of times, that answer drives me crazy. But it's so very true.
I'm still praying for the Philippines. I don't know what the death toll is. I almost don't want to know.
I can really appreciate how skilled of writers people were back in the day. 5 pen strokes to write a 'B'! My current handwriting is a mix between cursive and regular letters.
I rarely say that. And it actually contradicts the bible a bit. God causes all things to Work for the good of believers, not that He has things happen for a reason. God takes the circumstance and works it in your favor. That is not the same as God had it happen 'for a reason'.
I can see where you're coming from, but I also kind of think that God lets bad things happen just because. Though God doesn't need a reason to do those kinds of things...I dunno. I'm tired, and I'm all outta energy for the night. >.<
Concerned that some folks view it as a foreign idea to provide easily accessible, simple to verify proof when they're making assertions about teachers/preachers/etc they view as false.
Why, oh why can't I sleep? I have to work in seven hours and I'm wired. I tried to count sheep, but then I imagine what the field is like and how beautiful it would be in the summer. Then I think of the farmer and his family. They're probably nice people, polite. The farm they had was probably passed down through the family, and their means to make a living. But what if there was a tornado? What would they do then?
And then, I catch myself worrying about these people, and they don't even exist.
I need to pick up a new hobby. :/
Yes, I've been observing that. It seemed a reasonable request.
I was happy to see Green's thread in that forum with all the happy faces and Dr. Seuss characters. I think the singles outta bombard the Bible Argument Forum with rainbows, unicorns, and kittens. :p
