Obedience is NOT legalism
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Matthew 28:18*-‬20 NKJV
http://bible.com/114/mat.28.18-20.NKJV

“Also I say to you, whoever confesses Me before men, him the Son of Man also will confess before the angels of God. But he who denies Me before men will be denied before the angels of God.
Luke 12:8*-‬9 NKJV
http://bible.com/114/luk.12.8-9.NKJV

Check your stance with scripture:

But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!”
Romans 10:8*-‬10*, ‬14*-‬15 NKJV
http://bible.com/114/rom.10.8-15.NKJV
John 14:23 "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching", Jesus very much wants us to do what He says and wants us to obey Him : p

Anywho, maybe we should move on from this since its not the appropriate place for such conversation >.>

I applaud those who have the confidence to speak the gospel to these folks, but it's just something I don't feel comfortable with..

...and by the way umm.... Legalism!
For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.
Romans 2:28*-‬29 NKJV
http://bible.com/114/rom.2.28-29.NKJV

Nevertheless even among the rulers many believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
John 12:42*-‬43 NKJV
http://bible.com/114/jhn.12.42-43.NKJV

Zero turbulence isn't possible as a believer.

Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

I often wonder about like when Im taking part in a thread (like a free flowing one like this), and someone comes in with a new and somewhat important topic, and when I like suddenly drop out, if people like assume I dont care or something when I really just dont know what to add to the conversation : p

Does anyone else ever wonder about that?

Proverbs 17:28
Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues.

Proverbs 23:9
Do not speak in the hearing of a fool, For he will despise the wisdom of your words.

Proverbs 29:9 NASB
When a wise man has a controversy with a foolish man, The foolish man either rages or laughs, and there is no rest.

Proverbs 26:4
Don't answer the foolish arguments of fools, or you will become as foolish as they are.
This is exactly why I won't preach unless someone comes to me for it. I'm not going to give unwanted opinions. I'm not going to treat others in a way I wouldn't want to be treated. I'm definitely not going to waste my time and energy on someone who won't use it for good.
Thank you Zero. I teach Sunday school and I am comfortable in that sense. I'm also comfortable when I have a friend that comes to me and we discuss Jesus and I help them. I'm not a door to door kind of person. I'm not the kind of person to gently hint to a Jehovas Witness that They're doing the wrong thing. I am like Immawildthing in that way and I totally understand where she's coming from.
Thank you! How does it end well, when you tell someone who believes as firmly as we do, that they're doing the right thing; that they're going to hell for it? It doesn't.
Just to get some context for the verses you posted, I read Proverbs 17. The verse just before 28 (verse 27) says "The one who has knowledge uses words with restraint, and whoever has understanding is even tempered".

I havent read all the others, but at the least, this verse in Proverbs 17, it seems to be about quarreling, and not actually a commandment to not warn people that they are in sin.
And to add to it, even if it was to warn people, using words with restraint isn't something I would use to describe someone who argued with every missionary preaching a doctrine other than the one you believe. That sounds more like a contentious spirit than anything else. It isn't spreading truth, it's spreading hate.

The person in those scriptures was literally a prophet, telling them exactly what God told them to say. I personally, am NOT a prophet, I'm not a pastor, I'm not an evangelist in any way. That is NOT my calling. Where in the Bible does it say, "if you're a Christian, you HAVE to tell people they're going to hell"? That prophet was told to tell certain people they were condemning themselves. I personally, have not been told that I have to tell a specific group of people, that they're going to hell. So I won't do it, that authority has not been given to me.
It's a little bit insulting though, to tell someone that they don't really believe what they believe, just because they're not doing it your way. I've done plenty of sharing God's word with those I feel like God has put in my life for that purpose. When God gives me another person to share with, I will. I'm not going to tell every person who says something wrong, that they're going to hell just because I don't agree with them. Not cool, not even if it was done in the nicest way possible.
It is not your place to tell people they're going to hell, unless you are a prophet, God has told you to tell them specifically, and even still, it's not your place. It's still God's place and you're relaying a message for Him, not for yourself because someone doesn't think the way you want them to.

I hope not because I have a very hard time with debate and stay away from it. It's not because I don't care. It comes from a past of someone who said they loved me, being very confrontational and debating me in sometimes hurtful ways. I try to get away from it. It's one thing if I know the person is safe and won't be hurtful. I'm happy to discuss, then.

Well I didnt mean like debates necessarily. Like as an example, someone on this thread brought up the mattress store 9/11 commercial. I of course thought it was a terrible thing to do, but everyone else was already saying it and I didnt really feel a need to repost their thoughts they had already shared, so I never commented on it. I wonder about this when things like that happen : p

I wonder about that sometimes in the chat room. I'll enter the room, find out the topic of conversation is something I ought not to participate in, then leave. I wonder sometimes if the folks there think I don't care. I only wonder about it for a few seconds, and then I am over it.

No. It was a play on his handle. I'm sure he is a believer.. it's just that Jesus said you will suffer persecution. Which would be turbulence. :)

I don't feel like someone doesn't care, they just don't want to get involved in the conversation. I do that a lot.

I dont totally mean like not wanting to get involved cuz I think it would have a negative impact on me or anything, I mean like even just not really having anything worthy to add : p Just thought I should point that out : p

So I'm officially back to work. I'm the kid's are back and of course I have a horrible cold. I didn't catch it from the Pre-School kid's, my own. Oh and my washing machine stopped spinning last night. I think it's about 2 years old. This stuff doesn't happen when I'm not working in the Summer and I have time to deal with it. It happens now.
