6 years since a girl from a neighborhood near where I use to live, has been missing. No clues, no nothing.
hey, i wouldn't swear to it, but i think i saw her family and story featured on a program on ID network that seeks to reunite missing family members. have you seen it?

it's indeed heartbreaking. so many families and hurting that deserve our tears.

So one of the many side jobs I have is as a rehearsal accompanist for a local community choir. I am also accompanying the voice recitals of two of its members. Last week, one such member talked about rehearsing and we made VERY tentative plans about Monday, and he was to message me and I would confirm.

Fast forward to today, where I am dealing with talking to my apt. manager about a leak in my lower bathroom, had a busy day from my "real" job and was looking forward to only teaching a piano lesson to this one adorable kid, doing laundry, and baking a cake for my kinda-sorta-girlfriend, because...

a) she is kind of upset because our job didn't do the cake thing for her when she quit like they do other folks.
b) she likes carrot cake and I accidentally bought an overabundance of carrots when I made soup a few days ago.

anyhoo...

The lesson is at 6:00, and I'm thinking an hour or so earlier that I could whip up the batter, have the cake baking while I am teaching, have the laundry in the dryer during the lesson....when at 5:00, this choir person is knocking at my door. He had emailed me to confirm and I hadn't responded (his story), so naturally, I am thinking that I had dropped the big communication ball somewhere and am quite apologetic, and manage to fit him in for 45 minutes. I'm having to sight-read the stuff and feeling very unprofessional because I wasn't as prepared as I like to be.

It turns out that he had got my email from another, who wrote it down wrong, so I never received his email. After he left and I got to thinking about things, it seems strange that he would come anyway without me confirming. So now the cake is postponed a day, but my other stuff is done...Should I have said, "sorry" dude! and sent him packing? What would have been professional?
You did the right thing, Steve. :)

I hope that your kinda-sorta-girlfriend does not think that you don't carr-ot all!

See what I did there?

This craving for potstickers is strong. I must have my steamed and pan-fried dumplings with that wonderful dipping sauce.

For cereal. I'm all like Homer Simpson about them today. Mmmm...potstickers...*drool*.

Ever been to a theatrical performance of some group where there has been a load of hype in the press and everyone is buzzing about how great their work is? You get good seats take a friend who is doing theatre for the first time, at your insistence. Then you leave the theatre with nothing good to say about the less than stellar performance? Went to one of those over the weekend.

I know I may just have wasted 30 seconds of your time with this whining. They wasted 2 hours of mine!

I have a craving for absolutely nothing. I'm just not hungry. Food...Ehhhh.

This has been my mood the past two days and I really don't know what to do with it because I really love food. (Evidence is seen on my hips)

Make something light, healthy and different.
(I wouldn't really know what is different and not to you, but what about .... hmmmm .... cut vegetables in short, thin "sticks" and dip them in sour cream (with or without spice added)

Oh I forced myself to eat some cottage cheese for breakfast. I just had no interest in eating. I make myself eat when I feel this way because...the body needs something. I typically eat healthier these days. Rarely I splurge on sugary things.

This is indicative of a slow metabolism. When I say slow, I mean like it has come to a grinding halt... and I am just as guilty. :(

We all need to jump back on the exercise bandwagon.. :p

I'm not Chinese, but I probably qualify as a dumpling...
Kim.. my Asian genes do not agree with you. If anyone in this forum can qualify as a dumpling, it would have to be either Ultimate77 or me. The rest of you are fakes. :p

Okay, I'm brown. But dumplings can be brown too, you know?

It could also be from not eating often enough, getting used to skipping meals... but if we exercise regularly, skipping meals would make us very hungry lol. Another thing is not enough enzymes in the tummy. Need to eat fruits and green leafy vegetables and/or take probiotics to keep healthy enzyme levels. :) But usually its just not enough physical activity (sedentary lifestyle).

I'm pretty active ZT and eat lots of fruits and veggies. Maybe my body just needs less? I don't know.
