It looks like you're acutely aware that your resting face is intimidating to some, so you smiled :D The second face was like, "Oh, I'm in the public and being looked at, lemme fix my face!" xD
Maybe I can come up with something less intimidating...

So -- the second face is the "fixed" face, is it?

( hahahaha - "Oh, Lord - help me!" )

;)

What about just a nice smile and no eyebrow acrobatics? Just keep it simple. Yeah. You strike me as a serious guy. Some say i am hardworking, serious and boring .... All I can say is that I am sloppy and lazy. Point is. The way people perceive you is not necessarily the way you are. And why should you care? You are the way you are for a reason.

Gary's looks like serious, then like he's eagerly anticipating somebody's surprised reaction.

toenina's looks like she's listening to somebody tell a story, and she's enjoying the story.

seoulsearch's looks like she's going to a party and she just asked you if you are coming too.

Mine looks like I'm the concierge at the front door at the party.

Don't see the humor?

Do you mean 'serious' as in "too serious" - or, serious-as-opposed-to-apathetic - or, what?

I am curious to understand "what all" you meant by that...?

Don't worry. I am not offended. I really want to know "where you are coming from" with that statement.

Also, is the statement mostly based on my facial expression in the avatar - or, on the posts that I write?

Hmmm... You seem too analytic... and that makes you seem serious. You have long posts with substance, and that makes you seem serious. And perhaps it is my lack of knowledge of the English language, but i don't always get your humour, although the submarine parking at winerose's place was quite funny...

So. I don't know you. And I can't conclude anything. But you give, to me, the expression of being serious. Not anything to worry about. It might just be me trying to be over analytic, too.

Oh! I am as serious as it gets. I wear black dresses, cover my hair, iron my bleached apron and keep my hair in a tight knot. And I sort my waste in five categories and never drive too fast.

Seriously serious. ;-)

A lynx can't be a pirate. (serious me talking) but I am sure it can consume eightynine or more egg yokes.

Thank you. Seriously.

:D

Really. Seriously.

( I need to stop laughing so I can finish this post. )

I do mean it both seriously and with humor.

Thank you. That is the kind of answer I was looking for.

Your analysis sounds close enough to reality. Only, there really is a less serious side of me -- a humorous side. And, I do want others to see that part of me too.

It is always nice to see when a young person notices the obvious that so many older folks often miss. Kudos to you, Sonia - for recognizing the absurdities that fill our societies with such ridiculousness so as to distract us away from what really matters...

Ugh.

The whole PB&J thing was blown up from a school principal's statement, taken waaaaay out of context and elaborated on ad nauseum. The original comment made by the school principal had nothing to do with racism at all.

Unfortunately Fox "News" and other news outlets that crave sensationalism love to snag onto this stuff and ride it for all it is worth, so we can expect this to be around about as long as the "scientists say bumblebees shouldn't be able to fly" thing.

ADDENDUM: Mind you, I am not saying "ugh" about you WineRose. It's not your fault, you are just mentioning something you saw on the news. I'm saying "ugh" about news stations that dig up anything they can even hope to claim is sensational and twist it.

I remember a scene in the movie 'Batman'.

Tony: Yeah, and what's with that stupid grin?

The Joker: Life's been good to me.

...Does anyone here think that I'm a serious person? :/
