iTOREtheSKY I told you, you don’t need to be a biblical scholar ;)

I saw God’s work during your adversity from your lovely story. So thanks for sharing :)

If I were you, I’d pray hard FIRST, then pick up the phone n’ in a Loving Firm Clear voice talk to that guy threatening you. Tell him clearly that he doesn’t have any reason to think you won’t pay. Then firmly YOU give him the option by saying “It’s up to you to get some money every week and keep an honest tenant in your apartment, after all, you got my security deposit OR take it to court and go through all the hassle".

That way, First, you started by the positive option and attracted his attention. Second, you are basically telling him that you are confident and that he is the one who will abide by YOUR rules. Not the other way around.

Keep it short, polite n’ civil. Don’t give him a chance to rant. He can keep his ranting for himself, you don’t have time for that. But don’t tell him this. Just think of it that way. And end the call.

I agree with you, I don’t think he’ll do anything.
iTOREtheSKY, When people wanna do something, they won’t tell you ahead that they will do it. They take you by surprise. But when they are just threatening you, they do exactly what this man did. Yet, you still contacted him “In case” he’s serious. It is still wise to be careful. And it is also good to show him that you are not afraid. Maybe all what he wants is to know how serious you are about paying him. So you showed him that you are NOT afraid and that you will pay him, period.

And yes, I’ll be praying for you. :)

I never had a problem with the quote because the way I interpreted it was, a girl shouldn't just settle for a non-Christian guy, or a guy who's lukewarm in the faith. She and the guy should both be in a tight relationship with Christ. Seek ye first the Kingdom of God. Seek God before seeking lifetime companionship. BUT, that's just me.

I appreciate the prayers & advice. I actually was contemplating contacting him via email because he is difficult to reach,as he spend many time 2-3 weeks at a time in the Merchant Marines, I believe or something of that nature.

So anyways, I spent much of the day cleaning, organizing a bit...taking apart that blasted bed frame. I didn't realize how many odd little parts it had. The last time I put it together was right after my ex & I bought it,well over 10 yrs ago. The movers handled it the last few times,so I was clueless. The 2 girls who came & got it were going crazy over it. They had just bought a brand new mattress for it. lol I told them to have fun!:) Was I condoning their lifestyle by saying that???:p hahahaha I didn't mean it 'that' way,I wonder if that's how it was take? Meh. Looks like it's a bus to wherever I land...my friend has waaaay too much with her schooling & word to just come get me now,so I dunno..we'll see. By bus it's 13 1/2 hrs...kinda a pain in the buns. Yep. so that's it for now. I'm hungry. Time to order something,'cause ummm I have like almost nothing in the house at the moment...with yanno the whole downsizing thing & all.

Thanks again to all of you praying for me & my situation. I really can't express how grateful I am to those of you who have sent me such encouraging, loving,Godly PM's. I'm very blessed to you know peeps.:)

iToreHis, I'm not sure what kind of legal recourse a apartment owner has either, as I'm not a lawyer. But, I would just pray about it to God,that's all I was trying to say, and, I mentioned my situation but that was what Farmers outlined for paying back the collateral damage for my car crash when I was 25, so, I was pretty much going to pay it no matter what. I was thankful it was $25/month. That was not hard to pay and I even, eventually, settled with the insurance company's collection agency, 7 years after the crash, for paying MUCH less than the original $10,000. I had, I think it was $3000 left and they said if I paid $900 they would end the claim :) God is good :) What's important is to follow Him, that's my life, yours is yours and whatever it is, it's GOOD from Him, just whatever the cost, whatever the situation, follow Him.

I would just say do things in good faith, let your apartment owner know that you didn't have the $2000 to give him all this time so it's not like it's going to pop up and show up now. Plus, he has $700 already so the amount he should want is not $2000 but $1300 unless you like did major damage to the apartment walls, floor, whatever, and then I could see him upset about $1300 not being enough.

Anyway, the Lord leads. He gives us all the answers when we question Him . Don't let this get you down, we all have trials. We all have fits of loneliness, ALL people, don't matter if married, single, they are had. But, good news! God is there. Stay with Him, I see your growth in Him growing a lot on c.c. and your turning to Him for things in thoughts here, saying things I've read on here. So.........that's good, that's God, He's working on you, and, yes, as you say, the Enemy is there, too, that snake does things that hurt us especially when we are growing closer to God and trusting more in His plans for our life.

The Enemy or God? You can follow one or the other. But, Scripture tells us, NOT both. You will be the slave to one and love the other. No two ways. Just like 'the way' to Him, there are not two ways , there is only one way, and, it's 'narrow.'

The Lord leads :)

Yes, DKfishman, brother, those thoughts are in all people who 'suffer' in Christ, , but, given to God, those thoughts, they don't have to become depressions in our mind. It's important to realize when those thoughts come that Christ presses them out of us if we come to Him. Oh, yes, He will leave quite an 'IMpression' on what we felt was depression. He delivers!
No two ways about it, our One, who is God, knows our desires, our wants, our fears, our sadness, everything, our joy, all 'things' God knows of us and all things He wants us to "cast" care-fully to Him (1 Peter 5:7 :) ) He knows the number of hairs on our head down to the specks of dust that are microscopically on our toes, God knows all. He is all and all :)

He is there for us and He knows we go through fits of 'things,' bouts with things, and, He is our overcomer, He overcomes, He overcame on the cross and the beautiful for those of us who believe, is that, ultimately, Satan cannot touch us, for God will keep us His, even so more, in death, for He will NEVER leave us nor forsake us.

"Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."

This not leaving us is NOT just on Earth, it's forevermore :)

"These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world. John 16:33

/"If the world hates you, keep in mind, it hated me first." John 15:18

I also suggest to read the all of 2 Corinthians 4 , but, here is an except:

Our bodies are made of clay, yet we have the treasure of the Good News in them. This shows that the superior power of this treasure belongs to God and doesn’t come from us. [SUP]8 [/SUP]In every way we’re troubled, but we aren’t crushed by our troubles. We’re frustrated, but we don’t give up. [SUP]9 [/SUP]We’re persecuted, but we’re not abandoned. We’re captured, but we’re not killed. [SUP]10 [/SUP]We always carry around the death of Jesus in our bodies so that the life of Jesus is also shown in our bodies. [SUP]11 [/SUP]While we are alive, we are constantly handed over to death for Jesus’ sake so that the life of Jesus is also shown in our mortal nature. [SUP]12 [/SUP]Death is at work in us, but life is at work in you. [SUP]13 [/SUP]The following is written, “I believed; therefore, I spoke.” We have that same spirit of faith. We also believe; therefore, we also speak. [SUP]14 [/SUP]We know that the one who brought the Lord Jesus back to life will also bring us back to life through Jesus. He will present us to God together with you.

I just went to the market for some instant coffee and a few items and, wow, I found myself staring at the beer thinking for a moment to buy one. I haven't had a drink in 19 1/2 months and even now my brain still tries to trick me.

Thank you Jesus Christ for another day sober.

Just stopped by to say I'm praying for those of you who are going through rough times. Know that lots of us genuinely care.

I've been pretty ill and that can kinda mess with your filter a little, so I haven't been posting much. :) Sometimes it's better to just read. :)

P.S. - My dog just pulled money out of the side pocket of my purse and ate it :/

I need a drink. No seriously! And I don't even drink! :p

Why?? Because I think I just discovered why they're called 'patients' (because dealing with some of them requires super-human 'patience') o_O

The more spirits one drinks, the more spirits one attracts.

I understand, but I don't have to worry much about becoming alcoholic because two sips of wine makes my face turn red and my heart race and I feel like my head wants to explode. That's probably why I don't drink. :(

Amen! Praise God for the power over you, johannprauss, for deliverance !

No, I'm exclaiming it, ut, I'm saying to praise Him too. Thanking Him is great (like you just did), but, don't forget to praise Him too :)

Rejoice in the Lord, always (all ways), and, again, I say, rejoice :)

1 Thessalonians 5

6Rejoice always, 17pray continually, 18give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 19Do not quench the Spirit. 20Do not treat prophecies with contempt 21but test them all; hold on to what is good, 22reject every kind of evil.
23May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it

He delivers us and one day He WILL deliver us all ! Halelujah ! And, yep, you got it, PRAISE THE LORD ! :)

Ahh, Peanut, my maltese puppy does a lot worse than that. Sometimes I don't have the guts to punish him cuz I know he'll punish me behind my back n' I'll find out after about it and feel like I have to kill that dog!! :D But just by looking at him, you start laughing!! :D

But guess what? Peanut learned to apologize. When I yell at him, he kisses me. Then he goes around and does something else!!

If anyone is the example of showing commitment, it's Jesus. I think to help me overcome this fear, I need to study how he was committed to humanity. He being the perfect example and role model, it might help to calm the nerves.
