Thanks Jim, I wish I was in the mood to eat. My daughter wants a banana split for dinner. At this point I don't care, it has bananas and dairy, good enough for today.

Grace, that's a sad situation from all the points and unfortunatly, for each incident there are consequences/results that everyone has to accept it and deal with it as a mature and responsible person regardless anything.

So while I'd pray for that girl and her family and pray that the school had the wisdom to take the right decision about that girl. Still the girl made a mistake, we all do, no one is perfect, but she has to deal with the consequences Not as a punishment, but rather a lesson. No one learns for free. :)

I work in ministry as well, and while we don't have formal clauses, we are expected to conduct ourselves in a godly way in our private lives, and I think that's a good thing. I'd say the same about the members of a church, or even the students of a Christian school. (Church members living openly in chronic and unrepentant sin need to be confronted in love.) Church discipline and expectations have fallen by the wayside in a sad way in many churches. So while I do think it's wrong to kick a girl out of a school for becoming pregnant, I can see the reason behind it. They don't want other students to think premarital sex is okay. But there has to be a better way to approach this without sacrificing a girl who needs support and encouragement more than ever in her life, while ignoring other students who are also likely having sex. I wonder if the father of the child also went to the school, and if he was dismissed as well.

Wow.

Camden Yards. March Madness. Stadium hopping.

Cool trees :D (That's like 'cool beans,' but, with a 'cardinal' twist)

Yeah, monnycat, sounds like you have been given a great dad by your Father. Praise The Lord !
no question, i am incredibly grateful.

well, i should say this, a great number of those trips were due to the fact that either of us were traveling for work, and we got to work out some way to connect. it's not like it was all fun and games. but i guess you make the most of what you have. this has worked out because God worked out a lot the small details.

but yeah, i'm super thankful.

Thanks for the update iTOREtheSKY. We are all praying for you. Remember if 2 or more agreed on something they will have it. Sorry, I can't remember the exact words now :)

I also pray that you would be a clear Christian witness for your friend "Without" directly preaching anything to him. Just be there n' show him your faith as a Christian man during adversity. Show him your peace. I know how you feel, but just say it in your mind, you'll try this for God's sake n' show your friend that during adversity Christians have the right to express their feelings, yet, we are different because we are not alone. Christ is with us. :)

Random life updates from iTOREtheSKY #9827341

Hi all! Just taking a moment to let everyone know I survived my nearly 14hr trip to NY.
So yeah. Here I am. Sitting here alone in my friends apartment while he's at work, and grateful in a way to be far from Maine, but still feeling displaced...trying to put on a brave face.

He's not a Christian...actually he doesn't believe in God,but he's always been one of those people that is "ok" with me being a Christian. lol I guess 'cause I've never tried to be all preachy at him or whatever. I think he's one of those well if there is a God then...yadda yadda yadda? Being back here is pretty unsettling in an odd way. Thing's have changed around here for sure,as to be expected.

So yeah,I don't know what I'm saying...I'm just sad...for many reasons...none of which I will go into. Thing's will pan out eventually. I won't be here long. God is faithful.
Just wanted to say hi.:)

i'm more than a bit tired of reading posts on cc where guys are listing as a primary reason that women shouldn't have responsibility/preach/be in charge of anything because they might get their period and madness will ensue.

i don't get it. they think a woman is going to get her period and bring down an entire organization? really?

c'mon guys. how about some valid points. i'm not talking about whether i agree or not. just fight fair instead of some obvious, bogus, low hanging fruit.

i've read two posts today out in the "deep end of the pool"... not talking about something here.

I hear you Monica. I don't know where these men are coming from or how do they think?!!!

In my church LOTS of women including me are teaching, preaching, servicing. I guess those men thinks these lovely women will be condemned or something!!! Ahh, Lord have mercy!!!

Exactly! That is just misogynistic rubbish. Granted, there are those of us who really milk the situation. But baring a medical condition, there is no reason that we can't perform our jobs just as well every day of the month. I work in an office of 20 people and the genders are split. I can honestly tell you, that I have no idea whose cycle starts when. (Though I could probably make some unreliable assumptions based on the rate of chocolate consumption.)

well, that's just it. i read stuff like that, and think, "who do they know who helps perpetuate this notion???" i honestly want to give the benefit of the doubt to some guy who has had some terrible experience with his crazy aunt polly or some girlfriend who was mildly psychotic. i don't know a single woman i've worked with who has any evidence of mental instability or crazy mood swings that would affect anyone/anything beyond, as you said, her choice of groceries.

as to women, milking the situation, i hate that too. it's like, "hey, you're not doing us any favors". i feel the same way about women who cry all the time at work, but that's another situation... : )

Perhaps some of them are confusing our private selves with our public selves. Their mom/wife/sister may be at home complaining about bloating, cramps, craziness, or whatever. But that's because home is where you kick off you shoes, remove constricting undergarments, let your hair down, and just say it like it is. We don't wear our pajamas to work, neither do we talk to our colleagues with the same freedom as we do to our families. I can guarantee you that if men in an office or at church talk the way they do when they are with their fraternity brothers, we would never grant men authority over anything ever again.

i agree 100%. that's like, "ruled as prejudicial and thrown out of court". no one should be in confusion of the two. if anyone has done anything in their life with a distraction or mild malady, such as a hangnail or headache, they wouldn't want to be deemed unfit for duty more complicated than making sandwiches on the virtue of that point alone.

and besides it's always been my experience that my fellow brothers can keep up quite nicely in apprising everybody of their maladies and assorted aches and pains. i think we're more alike than different when it comes down to it. : )

and on a slightly related point, i'm sick too, fenner!
