Awesome! She's one of my absolute favourite artists. Seems like a great down-to-earth and quirky woman. I hope she comes to South Australia on her second tour. :)
Mine too. I've always wanted to learn to play the violin and she just makes me want to do it even more!

OK, Ugly has Pipp's picture as his profile picture, I was looking at a post and thinking, that sounds like something Ugly would say. Well that's because it was Ugly and not Pipp.

Way to confuse and old lady ugly. :)

I kinda think my head is going to explode this morning.

My ex husband-soon to be ex-? Anyway, him- he's going on another rafting/camping trip next week, and because he has a bunch of smelly cats, he needs someone to check on them while he's gone. He can't ask his dad, who lives next door, because he's going on this trip too. He can't ask his mom, because she's discovered that she can have a life outside of her family and May or may not be leaving the state to meet a man. And he hasn't got any friends.

So he asked me.

Trouble is, I don't have a vehicle anymore (the jeep my mom gave me kicked the bucket a couple months ago), and his house is 30 miles away. So for me to do this, it would make the most sense to just pack up the kids and go stay there while he's gone.

I don't know how I feel about that. I mean...without him there, it's just a house. No big deal, right?

I dunno. The kids have their own room there, we would have everything we need (except a way to leave if we needed to), and there'd be tv and Internet like we don't have here...I just...

I guess I don't really know what my issue with it is. That's the part that's doing my head in- I don't have a problem doing it, but I have a problem doing it.

You are separated and divorcing. You don't owe him anything. There are businesses to take care of animals or he can hire a neighbor to do it. I think it is completely inappropriate and jerkish of him to ask you, especially if he thinks you will do it for free. Not your job, not your responsibility, not your problem. It is his to go solve on his own.

What does your heart say, and are you at peace with what it says? Maybe just pray it through, and i know there might not be time in this, so what was your first instinct ans what brought forth, should I? You know already out of the love that is overflowed in you from God I think

Truth absolutely, so ask to be paid and then you will do it, that is not too much to ask is it? I agree

I have a Straight Talk unit I use as my home phone, which is cool 'cause I can take it anywhere I go in the country, plug it into an outlet & get service. The card I buy is $15 for unlimited calls in the U.S. per month. Pretty sweet deal. Last night I was on the phone & kinda panicked 'cause the unit was blinking red & disconnecting me,so I thinking ok,great the rechargeable battery in the unit is shot...now what? I have no $$$ to buy a new one. The battery in the unit is basically there,so that if you have a power failure & you are working off a phone that doesn't require direct electricity to function, you'll get 2hrs worth of talk time out of yer' phone before the batter dies. I looked up online @ Radio Shack to see how much these batteries cost. $26.00 and you can only order them online, they don't carry them in store. Bleh! Well I was looking on my little manual for the unit, and it says that the blinking red light means weak-low charge, but doesn't say you need to replace the battery. The top of the unit has this little blue button that glows blue,I plugged it back into the wall & for some reason, decided to just press down on this button (which before now I had no clue it was in fact a button) Savvvvvy right??? lol Now everything lights up blue & looks like it might just have needed to recharge. Here's hoping this is the case,'cause I am broke, broke (like Kanye says in Gold Digger) anyhoooooo. So,maybe Praise God? lol Oh yeah..in other news I think the guy I'm staying with really wants me out. Not because he hates me or I'm a bad person to live with, but I'm cramping his bachelor lifestyle. So yeah..I may be needing another place to live soon...I dunno. I hear there's tons of work in Texas...maybe I'll whittle a long stick (yes,I said whittle) grab a kerchief (yes,I said kerchief)...and stow away on a train...pull a hobo & make my way across the country to them thar hills...er,wait..there's no hills in Texas. I dunno. All I know is that There Will Be Blood! I drink your milkshake. Yeah. totes!

Oh, and the only reason I'm on now is I'm at a coffee shop with delicious coffee. ...And a gluten free cookie. Because they sell awesome stuff like that. Hopefully, I find plenty of things to do. Because beyond doing packing and house work, there is NOTHING to do. All the books got packed, no internet...just a couple of games that I'm probably going to end up replaying a LOT. Unless I can get a new Nancy Drew game...I. Wish.

If you wish to keep up with me, ask just_monicat.

I played my violin during tonight's worship session. This was my first official time playing up front with the band.

It felt so good. There's something about coming together with other musicians to worship and glorify God that felt so RIGHT. A bit scary, but really wonderful.

I also loved it because I have no sheet music, don't know most of the songs and have to improvise through pretty much all of it... but in doing so, I'm not trying to perform, all I have is my heart and that's all I want to give. Every time I get up there, I give the Lord a new song. None will be the same. I will sleep well tonight.
Congrats. I love playing with the orchestra at my church. Improvising can be fun and stressful at the same time. But, I think it becomes easier as you do it. We generally have music, so I don't usually have to improvise, unless the arranger kinda forgets what instrument I play. (Happens more then you know.)

I think we need to start up are own CC strings program. I'm sure you can guess what my preferred instrument is.

You can still learn, as long as you have access to an instrument. I've had students who were in their 70's, and did fairly decent playing.

Sometimes, it's better to take the high road, especially when one has children that will still see their father. And as for being jerkish, we don't know the whole situation as for why he asked her. He may have been desperate. But, I do believe he should pay her for doing it.
