50 Shades of Grossness, better known as 50 Shades of Grey.
Ah, 50 Shades of Crap? Yes, I won't be bothering with that one. It's good to see some Christian women (like yourself) haven't managed to be suckered into this 'acceptable' porn.

Well, he could be trying to stay on her good side, for the kids sake. Oh, who am I kidding. Cris, What GypsyGirl said, yeah, he's trying to win you back.

What's the deal with new members waltzing into CC and telling us off for how we deal with trolls etc?
Excuse me, bud, but I think not knowing the situation, nor the frustration of what we have to deal with on a regular basis, disqualifies you from saying much of anything!

Arlene, my love, go back to bed! And body clock, be kind to her, please.
And why are you still up?

Yeah...it's gross. Completely. The trailer didn't really show a whole lot, but that's because they didn't need to. The concept was disgusting enough.

I just finished packing all my clothes, and stuff out of the bathroom. I was pretty proud of myself until I decided it was time for a shower.

I don't know why I'm like this.

It's dangerous thinking though. It creates in women a fantasy, of a man like that. Who is powerful, mysterious and strong. But just looking at his character, he reminded me of what a psychopath would be like. I mean I am sure the character isn't one but it's the fantasy that is the concern. The character is fictional, but some women may idealize a man to be like that. They come across a man who exhibit some of those characteristics. Mysterious, powerful, dark side, charming man that pursues them. It all smells of manipulation and psychopathology. But they may be so wrapped up in the fantasy to keep themselves safe.

It's all comes down to ideology. It was the same with the Twilight series. Another fantasy. Teens were biting each other, drinking each other's blood, trying to become the fantasy. It's all so exciting and 'real'. But there are consequences.

This is what baffles me - what would disgust us if it happened in real life, we pay to see it in movie theaters or pay to see it on DVD.

Well that type of sexual fetish isn't disgusting to all. I guess I'll leave it at that.

Sin is seductive, that's the big problem. If it weren't tempting, we wouldn't commit sins.

I actually read the Fifty Shades of Gray (Grey? whatever) books. All three.

Biggest. Waste. Of time. Ever.

First of all, the writing itself is pretty awful. If you get past that, the characters are just...fluff. Nothing really unique or meaningful about them. The story line would actually be sort of interesting if all the sex scenes were taken out (which is why I actually read all three, to find out if they ever got married).

That's just the writing itself. As for the psychological side...

I think a huge part of the appeal of these books is that, as persnickety said, the guy is "mysterious", a little dark and dangerous...but as the story progresses, the girl is able to change him, to an extent. To something she can handle. So basically, she gets to play with fire, and tame it.

It's all pretty messed up, though had it been written better, and without the pornographic junk, it could have been, if nothing else, mildly interesting.

But that would have defeated the purpose, because I'm pretty sure the point of the books was the sex, the fetish...to sell copies.

At any rate, I absolutely agree that it's garbage and I find it sickening how popular it got, and that there's a movie being made.

And isn't that such a strong desire in women to change a man? To tame the wild beast? (Hahahaha I can't believe I typed that Hahahahaha). But seriously, how many women enter into relationships with shady guys thinking they might be able to change them? To play with fire AND get the power? To mold a broken man's heart back into shape by your love, actions and beauty?

Im on an apartment decorating high! Im loving this!
I got a queen sized mattress, a box spring, a frame, a really nice bed spread, and curtains for my bedroom all for $70. I decided my bedroom is going to be themed with dragon flies and baskets, because I like green and he likes blue and the green and blue reminded me of dragon flies.
Then i went to walmart and got shower curtains, towels, and face cloths for my bathroom! My bathroom is going to be grey and white with a foresty theme.
Ohoohoohoohoo!!! This is awesome!
I wish i couldve been an interior decorator. That would have been so fun. :( alas, I dont know where to start.
