My poor kitty. This is the third or fourth bath I've given him. These fleas will just NOT let up. It's frustrating both me AND kitty. He also ran off with his flea comb. He grabbed it and hid it from me (yes, he really did this). So I'm gonna have to get him a flea comb and a flea collar. This cat is soooo gonna hate me before the end of this week.

I think I'm going to do something totally crazy. I usually save the biggest, craziest stuff for fall, but I'm getting an early start this year.

So, just for fun i did an image search for 'Christian singles' on google. How sad. The amount of sexuality used to advertise Christians singles surprised me. And i don't mean individuals posts, but the sites actual ads. Too many big breasted, tight tank top wearing women to be feasible. Among some of the other things i saw. I mean, nothing major, but it was still enough. Its pretty obvious people are just trying to cash in on the Christian singles boom. Which, in and of itself, is pretty sad. That so many Christian singles are so eagerly focusing on dating that non-Christians make sites for them because there's enough money in it to make worthwhile. Granted the term 'Christian' likely loosely applies to a large majority, but still doesn't change the fact.
But on a lighter note...

The pastor at my Lutheran church gig embarrasses me. He always gushes about how wonderful my piano playing is. That, in and of itself, is a little uncomfortable, but today, he did so within earshot of the other praise band musicians - - awkward! Last week, while I subbed for the organist and played in all three services, he announced how marvelous my playing was to the congregation. I kind of wanted to escape in the back room, but had to continue playing the service.

I'm okay with a little affirmation. But dude, seriously...tone it down.

We have a new pianist/organist at our church. Other than the choir she's the music. She plays beautifully. I made sure to give her flowers as a welcome from tue Deacons today. We all take turns passing out flowers that are donated to the service.

So I was going to go on a mini-rant about how I would gladly like to shoot myself with how some people's mentality seems to work and others find justice in it, but I found this meme to be funnier than what I was looking for. Now I just need me some volunteers (don't come running in all at once now).

Oh OH OH- HE-he's getting up!!! Annnndd walking out the door. Okay, well hey. There is still that guy, he's cute, but I can't tell if he's chatting with a guy friend or if he's gay. Oh- and hey, this cutie walked in... but with his wife and baby. Alright then. *looks back down sips her coffee and reads more*

I actually find my chronic singleness hilarious. It's all so very awkward. But it's something that many other single people also experience.

pnick: your new avatar is adorable! : )

that picture with the glasses made me realize you bear a striking resemblance to one of my best girlfriends, lauren, during those jr. high school years. i was always a bit jealous of her. she moved from ny to mt, and was so "sophisticated" by my estimation, and because i was a late bloomer, i was a bit envious that a few of the boys seemed rather fascinated with her (probably because she definitely WASN'T a late bloomer). : )

yeah, that sort of thing can be awkward. i already sort of embarass easily, and that sort of open gushing or compliments like that, especially publicly can be so awkward and can make me pretty red -- much to my chagrin.
